Planning to use the 'my friend is gonna propose to his gf' line today on this girl... How do I shift conversation and number close from that topic?

I really hate opening with something like that... it works well on drunk chicks. but regular chicks at libraries and such, i dunno.


How you do the shift tonally, and bodylanguage wise is more important than what you say.

you can just cut the thread about the proposal thing, and say

"you know... ... i really.. hate... clowns."

It's the stupidest thing, but if it's said right, and followed up with a DHV story about you and bad experiences with clowns it will fly well.

Number closes i usually do seperately,

"You know, you sound pretty fun, and i promise nothing but good conversation, what's your number, we should hang out some time"

Or perhaps:

"Well, i gotta run, but you're a pretty fun person... Now don't get TOO big of a head but...
DO you have a facebook or.. a number?

I have failed doing this a few times though... sometimes they will flat out say "i don't give my number out to randoms"..

if they say "i don't give my number out to random ppl" or whatever.
Just go in cocky, and say "Well Im not just anyone " then go into DHV story or say "you havent heard of me?" and when they say no, say "ha." smile, and walk away.
Either that or before you even ask for her cell, just hand the HB your cell phone, and say "you know what you're actually kinda cool...here put your number in" they kinda feel enticed to, and do it.

Why not just go in direct? It's at the library she wouldn't be expecting it and it shows a lot of confidence. As long as she's not cramming for a big exam or something she should be pretty receptive as long as you show the right amount of confidence. But if you want to go in with a line just try something like "Hey is this a good time to chat you up just now?" or "Are you approachable?" (Note: These might have a slightly higher risk of rejection in a library setting as opposed to on the street)

Im not sure how to approach her, the place is packed because its exam time.


Ideas on how to go about this? We've never spoken...different courses.
