I think "straight" or bi women prefer women who are in a relationship with a guy. It gives them the ability to play with their sexuality without being condoned by society for it, since they're still "normal". And also they are more prone to experimenting with girls for mens' entertainment (when it comes to kissing and such, but they'll hardly let the guy watch them having sex). So all in all, I think you would be an aid, but you would have to make it clear to the target you're not looking to score a threesome or even watch the action.
