Hello everyone,

Long story short, I often use the elevator when I'm at my college. I noticed everybody tends to shut up when they get in the elevator. Even if they we're talking before. they will suddenly stop when they get in.

I realized that 95% of them fake being busy, mostly by playing on their phones.

So, I wondered... Do you guys ever pickup in an elevator? If you do, how?

To me, this sound pretty sketchy! Let me explain why!


To begin with, I don't see myself picking up on one girl while there is approximately 7 strangers, not talking, listening at us.

So, I guess pickup would only work if you're in a situation where there is only you and the girl.

Then, let's say you are actually alone with the girl. You initiate contact by using an opener (For example: So... You come here often?). You then have about 15 to 30 seconds to attract, build comfort and number close. This IS speed dating!

Tell me what you think about this! If you actually already picked up someone in an elevator, how did you do it?

It's a subject that interests me greatly.

It's similar in my opinion to public transport, aswell as waiting rooms etc etc. I really don't see the need for the awkward silence.

If anyone has any views, share them!

Sorry I don't have much useful input on this one, but it is a topic that interests me. I asked a similar question on how to pick up when working behind a checkout in a store; it's a similar concept of speed dating. Looking forward to what people suggest for this!
