A bit of a lengthy post on my first 3 approaches.

1# This was a Luke-Warm approach (as I liked to think of it) on a girl I had in a class last year and haven't talked to for over a year

She was in a 3 set with 2 other guys I didn't know.

Me: A friend of mine is in a bit of a predicament and I need your guys opinion on something.

HB6: Oh, ok?

The guys dont say anything

Me: See hes in a tough class in college, and hes not doing so well in the class but the teacher is willing to give him an A if he hooks up with her. Should he?

HB6: Well is she ugly?

Me: I'm pretty sure shes not good looking, but an A's and A right?

HB6: blah blah her opinion on why he shouldnt. Immediately switches the topic to her new shoes.

Me: Slight neg on how it was a dumb mistake to get white shoes, point to the other 2 guys shoes and tell them how much smarter they were for getting black shoes so you dont have to clean them as much.

Group: Slight banter about shoes

At this point the 2 guys start talking to each other and I start to talk and reminiscent about X class we had last year and neg her about how much of an asshole she was to the teacher.

She laughs and shows me her new phone and asks if I like it. I take this as an IOI and pause the conversation as if I had a call, but call her cell phone number (Had it for whatever reason from last year) I said text me sometime we hugged and I ejected.

Aftermath: She ended up texting me after school and we had a fun banter, I asked her to get some lunch with me the next day but she said she was busy and "we'll see" So, i'm questionable on that.

#2, mainly testing out my stories and banter
Needed to walk to point A, then B, so asked HB8 friend to walk with me

Our kino relationship has been limited to hugs.

Start the walk off, and hold my arm out for her to take. She does so and we start to walk

We banter on prom ticket prices.

She says she hits her foot and squeezes my arm, I squeeze back slightly, but then immediately drop my arm disconnecting us. She seems genuinely un-phased by this.

We talk about how summer is around the corner, so I use this as a way to thread in a story I had pre-canned about how I almost died rock climbing last summer. As we walk she is getting distracted by other people and things and my story is going half heard. I pause the story as if to see if shes listening and she responds by saying "keep going." I reach the climax of the story and she seems uninterested, possibly from missing details.

We reach point B and we meet with a few friends. A little disheartened by her reaction to my story I move to a table with two HB6 and HB8, these two are just good friends though. (At least for now )

#3 Use opener on HB6 friend in a 6 set group, in hopes to start a conversation with the other 5 HB's that I didn't know.

Use same opener as in approach #1

Her: blah blah opinion blah blah

an HB7 friend of hers seemed mildly interested, but turned to the other 4 girls within 4 seconds after my opener. So I was stuck in a one on one conversation with the HB6 friend. Ejected shortly after opener

Any tips on what I did wrong would be much appreciated. And my AA has been keeping me from doing real cold approaches at my school so I've been sticking to warm ones so far.
