Hey everyone,

Been in the game for a while, but was always scared to get out of my comfort zone and actually make things happen. I always made excuses and now, after growing sick of just staying at home and letting life pass me by, it's time to finally start living it.

Starting tomorrow I will head out at least 3 times a week day or night and make at least 5 approaches. I will shave this dirty mustache, take a nice long shower, put on nice clothes, spray on some cologne, and head out to the mall. The only reason I didn't start today is that I am going to spend one last day tying all loose ends before I disconnect the internet from my computer. This means no more video games, browsing Wikipedia, wasting time on YouTube, or any other useless things I did to convince myself it was okay to stay at home. The only time I go online will be to post field reports of my progress and to pay bills.

This online journal will act as a reminder to me that I have a responsibility to myself to continue getting out there. If I can get advice/guidance from anyone who is willing to offer it that would be great as well. I hope everyone can be supportive and help me along this journey. Thanks.

So I did end up going out and opening. This is my biggest barrier right now. I didn't open as many people as I'd like, but some is still better than none. Just ran my standard opinion opener. Nothing really that great.

A big obstacle for me was going out in the first place as I preferred sitting at home and doing nothing over going out and pushing my comfort zone. I'm gonna do the same thing next week except I'll just push it a little further next time.

Don't want to post any actual details since I didn't do as much as I wanted, but next time I'll post some actual conversations and stuff I can break down in the interaction. Going to try to write down a bunch of motivational quotes as well and bring them with me and read it before I actually start opening.

im keen on hearing how things go. Im glad you have decided to go through with this, i can tell you right now that it will change you.
Stick to it though you wont see instand progress but i think after a week you will notice some differences. Also dont be too harsh on yaself you wanna push yaself but not to the point that every time you go out you come back with the feling of not having achieved what you wanted.
Also as it seems you are opening with the intention of overcoming aproach angsiety and to improve you general flow of conversation. I would recommend not worrying about who you open. It could be that friendly fat chick or that nice old lady. They wont see the approach as a pick up which it isnt anyway but will probably have more willingness to carry on talking.

Good luck and keep us all posted
