i hear ya, but i don't think we want to encourage girls to call us in the middle of the night to be their emotional tampons. as a policy, should we not always assume there is sexual chemistry and move from that frame? i would assume that she wanted a hookup. of course, i would be incredibly tactful and playful about it, just in case she actually was calling for help with a flat tire.

What's wrong with 'emotional tamponism', exactly?

Last I checked, gaming is about making a girl thinking you give a shit.

If you're there for her boo hoo's, that might establish a fuckton of rapport. End it with a "You're stressed." +/- (joking) "Think you need a good fuck." OR (serious) "I'm free tomorrow night, I'll pick up some (beer/whatever) and you can come over here and we can discuss it." -> good excuse to talk about massaging her -> whatever.

The idea is "I'll listen" + "Do not LJBF me" - before I even heard of PUA, this was the first and easiest way to have girls eating out of the palms of my hands.

Both may lead to pussy,

but only one way requires you to "act" like a pussy.

I largely agree, but part of me still says that if you sit through 1 boo hoo session and blow off all the rest, that's all you need in order to say things like "I've been there for you when [x]" or "We've always been close remember that time you [x]" - easy lines in a long-term investment. If you establish that kind of long-term rapport with each girl, before you know it you have a little black book of "Any of these girls will fuck me even though it's been 10 months since I spoke to any of them" without so much flaking or one-night stands.

I don't mean relationships or any shit, I just mean long-term fuck buddies - keeping your foot in that door for future reopening.

But I mean, each person has their own way of doing things. Even I'd say, however, not to 'emotionally tampon' all night every night or any bullshit like that. My suggestion is to listen once or twice (max) just to be able to call her out on that shit in the future ("I did this for you"-type shit, used gracefully). I'd never put up with some random HB calling me all night crying about her shitty problems.
