Alright this situation happened to me a few months ago and i am just wondering how bad i screwed this up. I go to a junior college and i had music class with this girl last semester. There was a extra credit opportunity if we went to watch a show at the school theater. So i asked her "Are you going to go to the extra credit tonight" She said ya and i said alright cool i will see you there. We were always friendly with each other. We talked a little here and there but nothing to serious. That night i arrived at the theater and i just sat alone because i didn't see anyone from my class. A few minutes later i receive a text message saying 'hey its Michelle are you here?" The thing about all this was that i never gave her my number. My number is on my facebook page and i am assuming she got it from there. We talked a little here and there but nothing serious. I start thinking she might like me. But the semester ended a couple weeks later before i could pull anything on her. About in January when school started up i saw her facebook and noticed she recently got a boyfriend. I personally think i fucked up bad. What do you guys think?

Yeah, she went out of her way to get your phone number somehow (huge IOI), started texting you, etc... She was into you.

So yes, because you failed to pull the trigger when you had a shot, you know get to live without knowing "what if?"... Sucks bro.

Next time be more aware.

Omg dude... I feel sad just reading this.

If she has your number, but you never gave it to her, then she actually spend time and energy looking for your number whether it's from a friend or on your fb page. If she's gonna invest that much effort, then she either attracted to you or finds you very interesting.
You should've done something THAT night.
Oh well. You learn from your mistakes. :D

Btw, you ALWAYS have time to chat up a girl. Even 10 minutes is enough time.

I'm gonna agree that you fucked up bad. She MIGHT have a boyfriend. There's a chance she doesn't. Just work on her now. Like, tomorrow or something. If she declines because she has a boyfriend, then either leave or find a way to go out on a date with her. There a shitload of material on the net with what to do when a girl has a boyfriend, so I won't go in depth with that.

Even if the boat might have passed and she's not interested anymore, there's always a way to catch up to the boat. There's always a way to spark that attraction again. You just gotta figure out how.

You didn't make any move on her, she may thought you weren't interested because she obviously gave you some IOIs.

Next time.

How Bad Did I Screw This Up

In my humble opinion the only screw up you made in this situation is thinking of it terms of the statement above, "How bad did I screw this up." While there are situations where that statement does apply, they are rare and really bad--such as I don't know being in a relationship and sleeping with your girlfriend's best friend.

So number one, you are blowing this whole thing out of proportion. Number two, you are making a whole bunch of assumptions.

For example, suppose you did pull the trigger and made a move. One, you are assuming she would have been receptive. Two even is she was receptive, you are assuming you would liked each other enough to be in a relationship--for all you know, once you got to really knowing she may be the most annoying person on the planet. Three, you are assuming she would not have dropped you for whoever she is dating right now.

There are a helk of a lot more assumptions you are making, but I don't think I really need to go on and point them out.

The better way to look at this whole situation is, "how could I have done things better."

From my perspective, you did everything fine. Two things pop out at me though: one she did something out of the ordinary, two you did not respond.

How she got your number is unknown. The only thing you are certain about is you never gave her your number. To me, her actions are a huge red flag. Again, I'm on the older end of the spectrum but really if I met and talked with a girl at work and she called me on my cell without ever giving her my number, I would definitely ask how she got my number. Would I risk putting her the defensive, sure. But I really could care less, I'm more concerned that my number is getting thrown around out there without my permission.

You did not respond. Given the circumstances, I do not think that was such a bad move. In my opinion, it is highly strange for a girl to just grab my phone number from somewhere based on a few conversations.

So what could you have done better? In my opinion, you could have asked her how she got your number.

Anything else is just speculation.

The thing is though i really liked this girl and there was a good chance she probably like me. But i screwed up by not showing interest toward her.
