So I met this girl about 1 1/2 weeks ago, we talked a few times and she was into me hardcore.. Until one day when I sent her a text and got nothing in return.. I waited 2 days and still nothing.. So today I decided to hit her up and find out what the deal is, and here it is..

Me: Hey hows jail? ;P
Her: Jail? haha wtf?
Me: Ya jail... I figured you got locked up or something?
Her: Very funny mister.. lol
Me: Wait so your not in jail?
Her: No... never! lol
Me: Hmmm shocking u trouble maker.. lol
Her: Pffft. I am not a trouble maker. Actually I will b honest. I have been talking to my ex for the past few days and I am not sure what im gonna do, so that's why I haven't been talking.
Me: Ahh I see.. Your one of those gals that rewinds life huh?
Her: I try not to but 9 years together I guess deserves a second chance. Its been hard for me. Im wicked confused.
Me: Well I don't play Dr. Phil with girls.. However when my dog died a few years back I was sad for a lil bit.. I got another dog and I was happy again.. lol
Her: Bahahhahahah, that's funny.. Well I just figured id let you know.
Me: Well let me know when that doesn't work out for ya..
Her: lol well thanks.. I am sorry cause I feel like I may have wasted your time.
Me: You didnt waste any of my time.. If anything you wasted your own... ;P

( 15 minutes pass )
( My phone rings... Ring, Ring)

Me: Hello??
Her: Hey whats up? You hate me huh?
Me: Hmmm, I don't hate anyone..
Her: Hahah, well good.. Anyways I was thinking about what you said earlier about rewinding life..
Me: Uh huh... ( With a huge smile on my face )
Her: And now all I can think about is how much my ex was an asshole in the 9 years we were together, and well I don't wanna go through another 9 years of that shit..
Me: Did you call just to talk about your problems or is there a motive behind this call?
Her: WOW!!!! Whatever!!
Me: Listen HB, like I said earlier I don't play Dr. Phil.. Nothing personal I just have my own shit going on in life and can't be bothered with other people's.. ya know?
Her: I understand and respect that fully.. I didn't call you to bitch, you just made me realize life is too short to waste my time being unhappy.
Me: I am glad, I enjoy helping people out..
Her: Haha your funny... What are you doing Thur?
Me: I don't even know what I am doing in an hour.. Hah Whats up?
Her: I was thinking we should grab a drink Thur night if your free?
Me: Ok.. Thursday should be fine for me, how about I let you know for sure on Wed?
Her: Awesome, def let me know on wed as soon as you know!
Me: I will for sure, but I am finishing up at work now I will hit you up later on..
Her: OK, bye!

I will let ya all know how this one works out.. I know there is a huge chance of a flake here but I am gonna take the gamble since this chick is sooo hot and has a sense of humor that seems o' so rare nowadays..

Very nicely done. A few things I want to point out here:

1) The "did you go to jail" opening was great, and it opened her up to why she wasn't messaging back.

2) Openly saying you don't want to be her friend to talk about relationships with was very smart and precluded any negative or platonic feelings from being associated with you.

3) "Let me know when that doesn't work out for ya..." - nicely points to the futility of getting back with an ex. The whole rewinding life and getting a new dog story really got into her head, and you barely had to say anything at all. Also, the last lines indicate that you're not going to chase her or try to sabotage her ex.

4) Letting her first text hang and getting her to try again. It's lucky she called rather than texted, but the end result would have been the same.

and 5) "how about I let you know for sure on Wed?" This actually gives you so many advantages that it warrants a list

a) DHV that you're busy (obviously)
b) Allows you the chance to cancel if you need to and not look like a flake
c) Allows you to keep your higher value if she flakes by saying "I was going to let you know something came up.
d) Keeps her mind on you the day before
