So I have this childhood friend who is quite good looking in the cute way, like he belonged in a boy band. Every single time we'd meet girls they always come on to him even though he is shy and doesnt really know how to progess with a women. I think you are looking at the situation the wrong way. I would use your friend as bait. Why do you two just open a set together? Work as a team. He pulls em in, you bring them home.

He's not purposefully cock-blocking you so there's no malicious intent. He's not even being a douche and crossing over with your target on purpose either.

So either work in a team like mentioned, with him as the point man, use him to open sets, if he's quiet and shy you can demonstrate value with entertaining stories, kino, etc.

If he's not good at following instructions about who to go for, then pick targets who won't crossover with him, i.e. the cute shy girls in the set who wouldn't chat to a cute shy guy.

Failing that just do guy stuff with him like watch sports, play videogames, eat pizza. Hit the bars and clubs with other wingmen.
