however, it's up to the joke-teller to determine if what they are saying is legitimately funny or if it is just stupid, insulting, and insensitive.
comedy is subjective. it all depends on the audience, the setting, and the delivery. if you have to ask this question, you might want to dial it down a bit.
perfect example of what i'm saying:
dave chapelle: "all black people like fried chicken!" (we all laugh)
me: "all black people like fried chicken!" (people get pissed)
