BTW, if a mod reads this, you should move it to the PUA lounge. I feel it's more relevant there, but I don't have 50 posts so I can't do it on my own.

To quote the cliche, “Nothing worth having comes easy.”

The pain or hard work you invest in an activity might feel overwhelming in the moment, but the key is to put everything into perspective of the future, where you’ll surely regret wasting the time you had. Excellence is a habit. No one feels motivated all the time – the key is to realize that even once you develop habits; it’s going to be challenging to motivate yourself on occasion. Accept this, and realize that “I’m too tired,” or “I don’t feel like doing this,” are the surest methods to failure and mediocrity.

No one ever wakes up and wished that they had watched more television. No one wishes they had spent more of their time Stumbling on the internet or refreshing their email or Facebook. There are a very limited number of hours in a day, and in a life. You can convert your time into something valuable and respectable, or you can stay in your comfort zone and get nowhere.

Giving into a random emotion or thought is waste of life when you’re compromising your dreams or integrity. There is no tomorrow or later, it’s now or never.

To put things into perspective, every day I remind myself that one day not so far in the future, I’m going to die, along with everyone I know. People walk through their lives paralyzed in fear of failure or a spectre of imagination. An example that springs to mind comes from social dynamics; men are terrified to approach/speak with/escalate with women because of some intangible fear of rejection (a topic for another time). While Pop-Darwinism suggests that fear of rejection is hard-wired from the days of living in close-knit tribal groups, it is irrelevant for the scope of this discussion. It remains, one of the best tools I’ve ever come across is as simple as reminding yourself of your mortality. After a while you won’t need to use it anymore, but a quick “If I were to die at the end of today, would I regret avoiding this situation?” usually does the trick. Avoiding any situation out of fear is the surest way to reduce your self-esteem.

Something I’m now using is a sheet which I’ll look at every morning: 80 x 52 blank blocks (get your sheet here: http://www.thenategreenexperience.com/d ... o-mori.pdf). On the top left corner is my birth date, and on the bottom right is the same date, 80 years later. Each week I’ll mark off a block. No need to make notes, although I find it useful to write a personal journal of my daily experiences – the only thing remaining after a week is the memories from that week and how I’ve affected my life. Whenever a block is filled in, I’ll reflect and if I’m filled with regret, I know that I need to adjust my choices. Self-awareness is painful, and excuses are easy. A quick look at your sheet is an effective reminder to get your life in the direction of your goals and desires.

Are you going to start living a life you can be proud of, or continue to waste fleeting opportunities in a pathetic attempt to stay in your comfort zone? Remember, “Everybody dies, but not everybody lives.”

This is from my new blog www.imperiance.wordpress.com
I'll be writing about lifestyle development, as well as PUA and may be copying over posts as I see fit.

f "The Hero Handbook".
The Hero Handbook is an introductory text in very basic lifestyle design written by fitness blogger and author Nate Green.

If you're new to the entire idea of lifestyle design, it'll be intriguing, but it's awfully basic and succinct. It's really just a hook to get buyers for his Hero Workout (or w/e it's called).

So I just spammed the boards to get 50 posts again so that I can put my next blog post in the PUA Lounge.

It should be much more practical, and is going to be about text game. Watch for it sometime tonight or tomorrow.
