I've happened to meet lots of women who like to rant and rave about themselves. They seem to center the attention on their lives, you know, they talk about their past boyfriends, how they were treated, etc. I can usually take someone talking about herself even though it's rather self-absorbed... however, there are two things here that I've tried to, and just can NOT stand.

1) They go on and on about how hot/dreamy/great certain guys are right in front of you

2) They go on and on about how SO MANY guys like them and try to pick them up, complaining that they wish they'd stop


Now if a girl starts talking about either #1 or #2, I naturally don't want anything to do with her because it's just rude. I'm not sure if/when they talk about these things in front of you that they're rejecting you outright, or if they're testing you to see how you'll react, pushing as far as they can to see if you'll get P.O.'d.

#1 is terrible, but #2 I just outright can't stand. And for both of these things I just have no idea how to respond. So my question is, how would you personally react to and respond to situations #1 and #2? You've got to show them that you really just don't care because they're apparently playing games, so what are some ideas for responses to these things?

I would ignore it like you never even heard it. If she's persistent, ignore it and freeze her out. If she still keeps it up, ask her if she thinks one of those guys would put up with her sh!t and then walk off...

Before joining the site, I'd probably go with the conversation and be a real pussy about the fact it is affecting me and nod my head. But since joining, I've realized you can either ignore it (as Willie said), or ultimately YOU need to direct the conversation. You need to get her off the conversation with something else that intrigues her that she'll forget about those other guys and connect with you.

1) if a guy walks past and she compliments him, lets say his dress sence, id reply with 'yeah, he nearly looks as hot as me'

2)'yeah, a lot of girls are always trying to hit on me too, i hope your not one of them as well' - this instantly twists things around

both C&F, never used the second one because its never happened to me, but for the first one its gone down a treat a few times

I've done the first one before. But with a slight variation. There was a post on here sometime last year where if a girl says that you would "hook" her up with that guy. I love it! You go, "I'll hook you two up then!" She might beg you not to, but shit, I still go up to the guy and tell her that the girl finds him attractive. Good replies. The above two shit tests are the two that I can't deal with the most. Whenever they throw these two at me, I kind of freeze up and don't know what to say. Part of my problem is that I don't want to come off as being an ass, but I mean hey, it's rude of them to throw shit tests at you like that anyway. So it all boils down to me just having witty responses in my arsenal.

If anyone has any more retorts for this, I'd definitely like to hear them.

But in all seriousness... the first one has already been discussed. But doesn't anyone see how you could use the 2nd one in your advantage. Don't you know by now that if a girl tells you she hates something, that if you do it to her in an exaggerated way it'll be funny?

For instance, you could say: "Oh, you mean something like this?" and then look into her eyes, get REALLY close and go really cheesy: "Hey there beautiful, you have no idea about all the dirty things I want to do to you... and after we've made sweet passionate love we'd look up to the skies and I'd name all the stars after you"

Or whatever, the key is exaggerate so she gets that you're joking. She'll actually be processing all the stuff that you're saying to her in the above example. Also the eye contact and getting really close part will get her heart racing like mad.

You don't have to do the above example, it's just something I'd do as it has multiple benefits to it. (Other than passing a shittest)

You could also state your intent. Be serious and go: "well fuck... look at you. I mean, how can I NOT hit on you? I'm a guy after all... "
