HB 9.5- we occasionaly see each other on the bus, making eye-contact, eventually I got her name and gave her mine. She's adds me on FB.

(messages translated, not taking credit for most of the lines I used)
me: I don't recall giving you my last name.
HB: oh really?
me: I hope you're right, 'cause that would mean you searched for everyone named (my first name) just to get me, and I've got some bad experience with stalkers.

I felt it was going pretty well to this point, then she hits me with this-

aaannd, I'm stuck. I'd really prefer not messing this one up, since she's seriously hot, but I just can't get a decent reply that isn't apologetic (as this is clearly a shit-test) but isn't pushing the cocky theme one step too far, because I feel like I'm close to the line of being an ass. (I may be wrong though.)

ok, it's a perfect place for her to qualify herself to you. though, "offer" is kind of a too strong of a word to use in this phase

(this one won't get you further ). Although it's probably the only honest one.

2. answer : well, i had this feeling, that you could also be a fun AND interesting person, and i really do not spend my time on boring people.. so, what are you all about ?

pay attention that she percieved you as "harmless", which is a neg + her disqualification, so you might need to do the same to her for a while before going any further.

How about replying with:

Oh I see you have nothing to offer other than you're looks? :p OK I'll help you out a little... If I asked you're friends to describe you what would they say?

It takes back the blunt over the top comment before but still gives her a chance to qualify herself to you with her response.

I think this is a classic example of guys being too cocky and running lines and not actually talking to someone. Instead of just being a high value guy, you try to say you are. It's the classic example of if Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt, imagine they were the ones saying girls are intimidated by their charm, they'd sound like a bit of a douche for verbalising it.

The qualification question was pretty blunt. the above suggestion is pretty good and I'd use that and then just tone it down and be playful without sounding too egotistical.
