Night out; high incidence of one particular Q. Normal?

This last weekend, I was out at Oceania in Bristol. What was REALLY strange was that the number of girls who asked where I was from in the first couple of things they said to me was very high. Also, I went to uni for 4 years nearby and have lived in the vicinity for a while now and have never been asked this so incessantly.

Was this because:
a) It was valentines day 2 days later and the girls were out after a guy who was from the area?
b) Girls from Bristol are really in to their geography?
c) Chance / synchronised randomness? Next weekend, they'll all be wearing cow print thongs.

Anyone else notice this or was it just me?
