Hello all, I thought i'd report back first because my V-day started with college and ended when college ended today. I don't and won't have any plans tonight so I could have had only done this challenge in the morning/afternoon.
I have no idea how to lay out this post so here it goes.
Alright, so I woke up at 7am, got kitted out and headed for the bus to college with my mates. I tried R.G's opinion opener " Who looks better, Pixie Lott or Ke$sha" to my surprise it actually worked, i got a couple minutes of conversation from them. Though i knew it would be tons harder to use it when I actually got to college.
When I got in, I thought i'd warm up and go to the girls I already know and said "happy valentines day" to them, I got a nice response from them.
I wasn't too prepared to go into a full group situation but I did test drive the same opinion opener on another set of people I knew, yeah it actually works like a charm, I feel angry with myself because I bottled doing it to COMPLETE strangers though...
Okay my approach was at lunch, I don't even know if you can call it an approach but it's the best I could do for myself, me and my friends were sitting in the canteen, we were just about to leave and this cute girl starts looking around for chairs, usually i'd just get up and walk out the canteen because i'm super shy but I walked up to her and said "hey, do you want this seat?" and she said "yeah" then smiled at me, I had to leave straight away and she just sat down with a group of people.
Most of you on here will see this as a challenge I failed completely and it may hardly be anything for you guys out there but for me, a total stranger to this new world, I think my confidence has improved a bit and I've now realised I don't need it to be valentines to be more approachable to women, it can be any day.
Even though these are baby steps, thank you R.G for setting up to this challenge as otherwise, i'd be a complete anonymous figure today.
I'm frustrated that I didn't do more approaches but I guess I can turn that into motivation into trying harder tomorrow!
Looking forward to seeing everybody elses great field reports, hope everybody had a good one
