at first i didnt care because it was a show teaching people so i let it slide but in the handbook he says to talk like he does


excuse me while i say . HA!!!!!!!! it annoys the hell out of me when mystery talks so i no it'll annoy my target. theres no way in hell i'd do that.

Am i alone in this? does his pausing make it seem like he's over stressing every word he says ???

Just because Mystery decided to capitolise on his 'ability' with women, doesn't make everything he does bulletproof.

More so, if you came up to me (a social guy) & started talking like Max Maven on heroin with that sensual inflection, you'd be fortunate to leave with your nuts intact.

Furthermore, if every man started talking like this (most importantly we'd sound like a gender of Jerk-offs & women would probably go les alot more) the tone would pretty much lose it's effect. In talking like he does he's taking on what Physchologists have done for years! The rhythm, the tone, the sedated delivery - it's all just a comfort zone attribute.

Great, you might get through the night. But once this chick realises you talk like this 24/7 she's gonna drop you like Mystery's vocal pitch.

Stop taking this guy for gospel. HE's good at what HE does, take his advice, use what works & discard what doesn't. Uniquness is probably the largest attractor for women alongside confidence & a clone of Mystery's would not do it for you (although it would be much less of a competitive playing field for me )

Guys, the way he talks on the show is not how he always talks, at least I don't think so. If you see some of his feild videos on Youtube, you'll see his more normal tone when he's gaming some chicks. The only time I see him use that pausing way of speaking is when he's really trying really pull the people in so that the set/target is focused on him. At least that's how I saw it.

Well I never watched the show... However personally I talk fairly slow and tend to pause for emphisis and reflection. Look at proffesional speakers or politicians... almost all of them speak exactly this way. Why? Because it's articulate... better to speak at a slightly slower tempo and take a few pauses then sound like a babbeling fool.

People also naturally associate intellegence to speaking well.

Now of course you want to mirror someones vocal patterns and tempo just as you would with there bodylanguage... it builds rappore, and you then have the opportunity to lead the pace and patterns to your own gain.

I say if you must err, err on the side of slow and articulate.

your right better to talk slowly with emphisis than quickly and they're like "what" but best to talk like a normal human being.

Mystery has a nice speaking voice but it comes off as very presentational. As if he isn't speaking to you, he's speaking at you. But that makes sense in the context of the VH1 show and the video tutorials I've seen him in. He seems to have a totally different delivery infield. Neil Strauss' delivery seems to be the total opposite. Very fast, doesn't seem to pause at all, asking you to keep up with his train of thought. And this is from the interviews and tutorials I've seen him do. Anybody know how he talks infield?

its an exaggeration of something that everyone should do. everyone should enunciate and put tone in their voice so it can captivate the audience and is hard not to listen to because it keeps ones mind interested. he uses it over the top (like peacocking and a bunch of other stuff he does) but damn man. if it works, it works.

I think you're just being insecure.
