One of my male friends who is an AFC but not completely terrible with women told me a few night ago that I should use the word "I" less in my conversations with girls. He said this as genuine advice and I think he mean that he thought I came accross as self centered. I dont know if I should listen to him, especially since I k-closed a girl 10 minutes after he told me. Is this an issue? I thought that being a little self-centered is what girls found attractive, at least that my experience and I feel that most people one these forums would say the same.

I think I used to when I was younger, so I consciousely try not to. I say stuff about myself when its in context, for example when we are talking about uni I mentioned that I was on exchange for a year, that isnt really bragging. or I mentioned that I speak 4 languages and that I do kickboxing, again when it came up in conversation.

Or maybe you talk about yourself too much and don't give her a chance to talk about herself. Can't see why that's a problem if you #closed her, but it could be a problem on future dates. I have to watch myself on that, not take over and drone on.

Look, taking out the "I" generally has an psychological effect on everyone, not just for picking up girls only. Replacing the "I" with "WE" makes ppl subconsciously believes that you're on the same team with them.
The reason it works with picking up because it makes the girls more comfortable around you.
