Have you guys ever thought of a way to drop girls in the friend-zone but still have them like you? I've come to a situation where i've had multiple girls show interest and i would pursue them all but i really don't want to have to choose.

Just say something about how ever since your puppy died you have felt emotionally distant... lol! Nah seriously just tell them how it is. "I'm not looking for anything serious right now but I do enjoy spending time with you" works very well for me. The trick is to be the fun guy who everyone is competing with to see who will "tame" him. Then when you find one you want to stick with it will be easy.
