There is NOTHING wrong with opening directly like this, as long as you act congruent with it thereafter.
I would say that such an opener works better in day game. On the net, girls often get messages saying "you're hot," so it's a lower percentage strategy.
But, since she's replied, this means she LIKES YOU. Just do what you said you wanted to do. Find out stuff about her, ask her questions about herself, shoot out a little funny story out there, and after a bit of back and forth try and arrange a day 2 and exchange numbers.
