When you approach a woman, be unique, be different.

Basically what you need to accomplish:
- Be different than other guys.
- Let her feel special, like your approach was crafted only for her, not something you do to all girls. Comment something about a item she's wearing, when you talk find out why she's special (qualification) and be ready to run away if she isn't.

In my personal experience, I find the more you treat a girl like every other girl, the more of her uniqueness comes out. And the more unique you treat her, the more she acts like every other girl.
