Best friend and wing moved to Austin 6 months ago... need a new wing. Looking for someone who's confident. I'm 40, in great shape (woman easily think I'm 10 years younger) and have decent game, but have been out of it for about a year. Just trying to get sharp again. Looking for someone similar... 30 something preferably. Mile Hi City.

...you prefer a 30-something wing? It's all good. I understand the whole style crampin' thing, but you don't want your wing to be the male equivalent of a SHB, do you? ;-)

I'm PaddieMon, age 42. I live and work out in the Flatiron Foothills/Boulder area. I have devoured the PU lit, and I can 'remember' having game at one time. LOL. Most of my buddies here are married and I need a wing(s) to work together with. I used to study acting so I'm alright at Opening and playing along...

Hey Mon,

No style cramp at all. I'm open! Actually prefer someone around my age. I'm basically getting back into it, reinventing my game and studying some of the lit. Just need to be friends with whomever I wing with. I live in SW Littleton, where there's nothing but milfs and teenagers. Considering a move to Den. Maybe we could hook up for some coffee?

I'm up in Boulder, so we're kind of far from each other, but I've got some ideas. Have you heard of the 'Denver Lair'?:

on the WWW at denverpua-dot-com/forum/ (they seem to have a URL filter on this site)

It seems like a pretty good resource for support and a network of wings in the area. The deal is they make you audition to get in though! So, I was thinking of taking them up on it on Friday 10/12 at a club called The Church in Denver. Maybe we could 'kill two birds' and meet-up there, and if you're interested you could do a tryout too. You gotta reserve a spot on their site if you want to do that though.

I think you also mentioned that you're in good shape. So, I'm curious if you ski. During ski season I'm pretty much around Keystone/Copper/Mary Jane almost every weekend and naturally, that could be good sarge territory. Peace.

Yo Mon,

Yep I've heard of the lair. I'm with you! I just wanted to get sharp before I contact them. I know about the "audition". I'm not new to that concept, I'm a professional musician. I'm also hip to the Church. Been there many times.

Kiss closed a 7.5 HB last night after my gig, worked some decent game on her bro. MGR is making the come back! Walked her home, she was so drunk her shoes fell off lol. And she bought me drinks all night!

I ski, but no pass this year. Is it too late?

I thought musicians didn't need to know anything about PU ;-) Yeah, it's good to have that feeling of 'being back' isn't it? I somehow figured out how to do this stuff naturally back in the day, and since then somehow morphed into an AFC 'nice guy' without paying attention. I've got a 'reservation' for a tryout with the Denver Lair this Friday night. Are you thinking of doing it, and when were you considerin'?

I don't think it's too late for the ski passes, although the prices starts going up sometime this month. I just like to get a bunch of four-paks so I can go to different mountains and those paks also have discount deals for bringing any buddies along... Peace.

Being a musician certainly doesn't hurt, but then you do have the "rep" to deal with. And believe me, I haven't done anything to help that. Musician or not, I tend to slide back to AFC status in between girlfriends (as I did over the last year post MLTR) so I have to remind myself about being sharp. Now with my best friend gone I've found myself putting all of my time into my business and not into meeting woman.

The ego boost from Thursday was paramount. So far no return email from her, but I expected that kind of LMR. She's thinking she was drunk and didn't kow what she was doing.

I'll look into a four pack.

Hey, I'll see if I can get in with the Lair for Friday and we'll meet up. I'll let you know! If not we should definitely meet up anyway.

Yeah, let me know if you get in this Friday. If it's all filled and you have to get in on a later one, then maybe I'll just switch so we can meet up beforehand. I think the tryout only takes a 1/2 hour and they just have to see you try to open a couple of sets. We can then decide if we want keep hanging out there or whatever...

I think it might be funny C & F to 'play up' the musicians rep like, "You've heard of what musicians are like, right?" <Wink> You've probably already played that one out though :-) Peace.

Actually, I've never used that! Great idea. Maybe for Friday...

Anyway, I'll shoot over to the Lair's site and see if I can get a spot.

I see that you got signed up in the 6th spot for Friday night. I think they wrote something about their limit being 5 but no worries. Since you know The Church, maybe you can suggest somewhere close where we can meet maybe 1/2 before heading in there and interviewing with those guys...

If you're still planning on heading to the Church tonight, my cell is (720)233-7181. Let's see if we can meetup a little bit beforehand. I have an idea that I want to try out to see if we could roll into the interview with women already on our arms ;-)

Hey Sorry,

Just getting back here. Had an emergency out of town trip. How'd it go Friday? They told me it was full and to sign up for a later date. I see a guy bailed out on this Friday the 19th, so I'm trying to get in on that.

I'll give you a call and we'll see about hooking up in the near future.

Looks like I got in for tonight at the Church.

Hey guess what? The 7.5 HB finally emailed back after 2 weeks. It's ON. I sent her my 3rd and final email yesterday saying "R u still there?" and low and behold she emailed back.

Also starting to work a few "hired guns" at my regular gigs.

I've got a dental appointment after work tonight. UGH. If it doesn't completely drain me, I'll come down to the Church and maybe tag along. If I don't make it, here's the idea for walking in to the interview with a woman already on your arm (they shouldn't need to interview you at that point ;-)

PUA: (w/ body not open to targets) Hey, have ya'll every heard of the 'Social Proof' game?
HBs: No.
PUA: Well, it says that if you walk in to a venue with someone then people assume you're desirable because someone has already chosen you.
HBs: Uh, huh... well I can see how it would make you look good.
PUA: Yeah, and you get to *play* it, because if a guy talks to you that you like you just get to say that the person you walked in with is your gay friend, or your boyfriend if you don't like him.
HBs: Ha, ha. That could work.
PUA: (turn to her) I'm here to meet some guys about a potential gig. Why don't you two walk in with me? It'll be fun and it will only take 5 minutes because I need to talk to these guys. C'mon it'll be fun.
HBs: Okay.
PUA: (take their arms and walks in) Now the thing you gotta get down is waving to people you pretend to know like you're a movie star...

Hey dude, I like it. You know what? I went last night and never heard from those guys. Did several text messages and stayed until 1:30 AM, even left them voice mails and never got a response! I'll go post on their site to see what happened. Anyway, did your interview with them happen?
