Are you smiling and having fun yourself before you open sets?
I was at first. Then as the night went on and the rejections kept coming I had to fake having fun. Not really sure if drunk chicks in a club can tell though.

Is your posture open and confident?
My posture was pretty much drunk. And it was moer than just open. I was high fiving people from the start.

Are you always opening nearby sets or are you looking around for a target and walking half the way across the dancefloor to open the hottest HBs?
A combination of both. Usually I don't have to, but it was a pretty small dance floor. So when my next set is actually a previous set that rejected me, I migrate to another section. I even tried to open a HB9 sipping a beer at the bar. I made the classic mistake of not negging. I doomed myself from the start.

Instead of pre-gaming at home and then going out, why not start out at a lower energy bar with less loud music, open some sets there and then bounce them to the club afterwards? You walk in with more social proof and have a group you can always come back to if you get blown out.
I was going with a group of friends who wanted to head directly there. I had lots of social proof. I probably knew 20% of the people at that club. But shit...
So in conclusion, I guess I did what most guys did and got too drunk instead of just getting a light buzz and remembering the rules of pick up.
