So I've been hanging out with this girl for a while and things are progressing really well, almost too well. There's one thing that she still harps on every so often.....her ex.

It's the usual, "he cheated on me so we broke up". She wont deny that she still has "small" feelings for him. During conversations she'll mention that she had done that with her ex or reminisce their times together.

My big mistake was at the time I had just ignored it considering they had broke up recently...but I was basically using that as an excuse. Not too long ago, we got in a little argument and she had said her ex asked her out earlier that day and because of the argument she may say yes. Told her to go and have a blast. And we didnt talk for three days.

Finally got a text from her and throughout that conversation, she got really sexual again and totally forgot about our argument. It's getting me to believe she's just keeping me around for validation.

I was genuinely interested because I didnt think much of the ex until recently. Another little incident happened where she needed a ride home from school and her ex picked her up and took her home. She then claimed they were "best friends" and everything was fine between them.

I can see it coming. She's getting back with him soon and I know im at the threshold of "the talk". It's a shame considering how well we were getting along but it's amazing how much a girl can apparently act so well for so long and just drop like a sack of shit. For two months.

As im typing this, im figuring out everything I've done wrong in this situation and what I need to do next time.

I feel like I need a punch in the face for not reading the signs earlier. It was just so hard to differentiate her from other girls because usually at SOME point women will talk about their ex's in some fashion. I think this is going to make me paranoid as shit about dealing with women in the future and send me running for the hills whenever they mention a past fling.

So im just gonna drop this girl cold turkey and move along, but I feel like my already diminished trust in women is that much shorter. It's almost to the point where any kind of a relationship besides a FWB is just not worth it....

If anyone has any experiences being the rebound guy or just wants to give me a few tips for next time that'd be cool. Punches in the face are also accepted.

have you fucked this girl yet?? thats really the only thing you should be trying with her. but it sounds like youre trying to see if a relationship can materialize. being a rebound, is simply sex. theres not usually much hope in trying a relationship as a rebound.

when i deal with a girl as a rebound. its one time i can just be the nice guy. she is non stop thinking about all the dick moves her ex made, so she is happy to meet a nice guy. and then if she gets back wih her ex, she will always think to call you every time they fight. and as long i made a good impression in bed, i can fuck her everytime they fight.

About 6 years ago i went through something similar and i told her that i wasnt going to be made a fool of picked up and thrown away went she felt like, like you i felt i was her validation. I felt way better, i saw her friend a few years later and it turned out they got back together but she regretted letting me go. Let her regret it.

We've seen each other for nearly three months and she just realized she hasnt gotten her period for that length of time?

So, saying that I got a confession that she was still fucking her ex and wasnt pregnant.

She was playing it so well for a while then I called her on it and she got pissy. Went into the speech about how he changed and she couldnt say no after he "begged and pleaded".

When she confessed to having sex with him, she said "Yeah, I did ........But I didnt want to. I didnt plan on it at all."....he came over to her house and just fucked her. She made it sound like he raped her.

Eh, either way im done with this. How can I ever tell when a girl is over their ex or just looking for a rebound? At some point they ALL mention their ex, regardless of the girl.

Maybe it's just my bad luck but I've had an assortment of bad experiences like this. Im finding it harder and harder to feel any semblance of trust for women.
