So theres this girl at work, tapped her up on facebook, got her number called her and we chatted for a few hours last week.
Another female work colleague then gave me the heads up saying that i was "in" there, and told me she thinks im lovely and is looking forward to having a meal cooked for her.
Anyway i called her up and asked if she wanted to grab some food and catch a film, she said yeah etc
Next day i call her up and we meet up at the pics, but the film literally was about to start, but i wanna get my chat on with her and say fancy a drink instead? She says no, we go in watch the film and leave, i ask if she wants a drink? No, im tired do you wanna lift back? yea cool i say. i text her when i get back asking if she wants to meet up again and i get a maybe next week... shes started brushin me off, and i dont know why and how i can pull it back...!!! she still replies to my texts and asks questions, but tbh i dont know what has happened here.

You came on too strong there, showed too much interest to fast. You kept calling her the next day and the next day, got to give it a break sometime. Plus you get to see her at work, too.

She said she was looking forward to having a meal cooked for her. You could have cooked one for her, or something that is fun to do is saying something like "Oh that's original, how about you cook me a meal and we switch things up" and if she says no or something you can neg her about being a bad cook. "Oh so you can't cook, well I only hang out with girls that can cook well", now I'd recommend building a little rapport with this girl before doing it as she may come back with "well I guess we can't hang out then" which a counter would be slowly turning and walking away and seeing if she says just kidding, or fine, or comes and grabs you. So I'd recommend doing this in person maybe at work.

Now as for recovery when you're talking to her make it so she has to call you. So say you're only a little busy on friday, and maybe(keyword maybe) could meet up, call me. So then if she doesn't call you and sees you at work and says "what the hell you didn't call me friday or something" then you can respond with I told you to call me. Blah blah blah.

But recommended course of action, stop texting/calling/inviting her out for now, you're coming off as really needy.

I agree, easiest way for me to tell if a guy is too keen - he posts his intial FR then replies 4 hours later about no one responding! =p
