so im a 17 year old girl and i cant get the fuck over this one guy. we were set up by a friend and he really seemed to like me and stuff and said all the perfect things, had good game with me, etc. anyways, he basically fucked me over and started talking shit about me behind my back. well guess what? I STILL LIKE HIM (or at least the idea of him)!!!!! He was seriously exactly what i wanted and i just cant seem to get over him. i stopped talking to him when i found out what he was doing but i still think about him every day and i havent spoken to him in 9 months. PATHETIC!!!!

and he really hurt me but i held my ground. i just feel pathetic and like i wasnt good enough or something. i think im a pretty good catch and im fairly attractive so idk what happened. he has a gf now but i know if he ever spoke to me again i would talk to him and lust after him again. and i compare every guy to him so im at a loss for what to do to get over him. i know hes a douche but i obviously dont seem to care or something.

any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

This is part of growing up. It hurts like hell. But it'll make you stronger and smarter about men in the long run. When we are young, we are at our most open and vulnerable. We haven't yet built up emotional shields, so every betrayal goes straight to the heart.

There is no trick or easy answer to getting over him. But you'd be surprised how quickly you can forget someone from the past when you start focusing on someone new in the present.

But this is the prime of your life. Go out and have fun. Be silly and adventurous. Don't sit around sulking about whats wrong with your life. You're 17. I'd kill to be 17 again. You should focus on all the good and positive things you have going for you and put all the negative stuff out of your mind.
