I was thinking lately to make a roadtrip with a friend through Europe.
We were thinking of Berlin, a big cheap city, Denmark, Prague, ...

But the problem is, how are we supposed to game them if their English level is poor?

My friend and I, we are pretty fluent in English, and we often sarge in places and tourist/international areas with English speaking girls in our hometown, altough our own motherlanguage is not English.

In our French speaking hometown, we are foreigners, and we even open French girls in English. However, this is very hard. Imagine you are in a club with loud music on, and you speak English with a French girl who almost don't understand the language? Yes, this is very difficult indeed.

I heared that Germans for example are not good in English, and most French suck in it.

I realy think that game and language should be ajusted if your target don't speak your language well. That is why i made this thread.

I want your ideas, experiences and tips about gaming in foreign countries, and information on which (European) countries are pretty fluent in English. Let the discussion begin!

I've found a language barrier to make things easier actually. Gamed a few girls who spoke mostly Spanish. The conversation is incredibly basic and you just have to show you're interested and escalate. Your expectations of having good game are far less.

It doesnt make it easier. What you consider being not speaking english is not what I consider not speaking english. I mean, My name are Valerie. That level of not speaking english. Or even : Que?

Thats hard. But practice your bodylanguage and give it a try.

I'd say just go for it, and express yourself in ways you see fit, so much of Europe now speak English, and learn it as a second language and they're keen to learn, so if they see you speaking fluently, they may even be friendly with you, and you can work yourself upon that.

True, and it gives you high value if you master a language other then theirs, and they might get interested in where you come from. I meet a lot of foreigners who can speak English, but still, I travelled quite a lot in many European countries: Spain, Italy, Germany, France, ... and many more.
Often I get realy suprised when I open or meet someone who don't speak very good English.

Sometimes, you say something to them, in a opener or or even a good joke that is only understandable if you have a pretty good knowledge of basic English, and then they look at you like "i don't understand a fuck what you say", or they try to answer in a very broken English. At such moments, things can get awkward.

But i know that there has to be a way to break the ice at such moments. When i sarge in a foreign country, I want to get in a good comfort zone with a foreign girl even if she speaks a broken English.
So does anyone know a routine, or a joke, or a tease which I can use when she doesn't understand me or speak broken English and that make the girl(s) laugh and break the ice ?

Wow i been M.I.A. anyways I been living in Japan and all over the world for almost 10 years ( 3 years in Japn) and let me tell you at first it is hard but then you learn that even if you cant speak the language or they cant speak english, body language is the key. Body language is universal its speaks the same in every country. It may vary by culture but thats what researching is for. As for trying to talk to them. I had a buddy once who had a whole conversation on his itouch with a translator program ( yes a whole conversation). my best advice learn a phrase in there language and use that to just start the convo and then take it from there.

You're stuck using body language. Being a foreigner could be a huge peacock I guess depending on what country you are from and what country you are visiting.

Consider it the ideal body-language training ground. When you can't converse properly, your body and your eyes speak loudly. But remember, pickup is essentially based on raw humans, culture is not the biggest issue.

This is perfect chance for you to practise your non-verbals and escalation.

I heard that gambler went abroad and practised a lot of game which is how he got his non verbals and escalation down.

I dunno. Should be fun. Go play!

Where did you hear this?

Most French and Germans speak excellent English. Danes, Dutch, and Swiss do too.

And man up and learn a few words in the languages of the countries you plan to visit. Not only will the locals appreciate it, but it will make you a more well-rounded person.

Sex is pretty universal.

So is eye contact and body language...

Just think about that.

People get your asses to Norway. If you know how to tease and have one or two good openers, they are all yours. And almost all understand English ,in a good level. They love drinking and partying. A good place for training ground too.

What Shyler says is actually true. The level of English in France is dreadful and in Germany they can't go much further than 'My name is Franziska'. I can tell because I've been on a European school with lots of diversity. Also I travel much.

All the people saying those clichés like 'bodylanguage is the most important language' are right to some extent, but let's be honest I think you have little chance of succes if the girl only understands 'I like you, you beautiful'.

The truth is Shyler, there is no real solution. You'll just have to overcome it, maybe learn their language, or the best solution of all: go to countries where people do speak english decently (that's USA, Britain, Ireland, Portugal, Holland, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Australia...).

I would say focus on your body language, there's not much else you can do.

Although it would be easier to escalate. :P

When you are a tourist and can frame yourself so, people will become much nicer to you as they are trying to represent their country in a positive light, so play with this and learn to speak in signs.

Go to Italy for this I think it is the only country where 70% of the the conversation is with hand signs and body language, you will learn a lot... haha, good times.
