Hey guys,

I do all of my approaches in the day, at Target and things, and I was just wondering about the approach itself. Not what to say or anything, because I've developed some good stuff, but just the approach.

I'll elaborate: 90% of the time, the girl I want to approach is looking at clothes or something, in her own little world and completely pre-occupied. Now, I really want my opener ("If you were my sister, and it was your birthday, would you rather have a gift card or an actual item?") to come off as spontaneous and everything, but it's hard when I'm sort of having to come up to the side of them and getting their attention by saying "Hey" or something, and then going into my opener, which, when approached like that, doesn't seem very congruent.

That opener works well when I'm walking down the isle and a girl is walking in the opposite direction. We make eye contact, I smile, and open that same way. Things go well that way, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the other way.

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice.

pick two nice colthes (example a shirt and a sweater) and grab them and say , okay may have your female opinion of something... next week (why next week ? so thatis the birthday of my sister and i want to buy her somethign but i dont know , what you think .... etc...

Thanks. I already have an opener, though. I was wondering more in terms of your position with the girl. Someone from another board suggested to sort of be in the same isle as she, pretend to be looking at something close to her, and open over my shoulder with my feet and body facing away from her. I think that's good advice.

I do like that opener as well, though. I may use that at some point.

What you're looking for is what I call an approach point. If she's looking at clothes, angle yourself in her direction, and try and find out where she's open to approach, the point at which she is facing away from the clothes the most. If it's directly at the side, consider going to the opposite side of the rack at a 45 degree angle. If there is an obvious approach point, make yourself occupied with something near that approach point with your back to her. When you're set up, and you've looked at a few pieces of clothing, turn over your shoulder and give her your opener. Only turn towards her when she turns towards you; if you turn around right away, it projects too much interest. Make her earn your conversation.

This is the way you should open every set.... (remember you telegraph more with your body language than wiht your own words.)


Turn only your head around , your whole body should be facing the place where you where walking before ( Your a busy amn , your just going to stay for a sec, something just pop out of your head.) look over your shoulder and send your opener with a time constant.
