i do see where you are coming from, books are only good for the theories. However if you are the kind of guy who spent their life alone in a room playing world of warcraft non stop, then reading books might be the best way your gonna learn what you should already know inn this instance. You cannot definitely prove that by reading the materials you will not increase your chances of getting laid. However you also cannot prove that they do, a lot depends upon the kind of person you are. Me personally i like to go out and see what works for me by doing it, but that doesn't mean i haven't read the materials either.

Yes you are correct the overall theme of the pickup community seems to be buy my product. When 98% of them are just regurgitations of the original Venusian Arts Handbook...including mystery's later products.

However with that being said the VAH is really just a regurgitation of Hypnosis models. Really at this point it feels like we are playing the purple monkey game where you tell one person and they tell another and they tell another until at the end it's no where near what was originally said.

So really if i was going to recommend studying (in a book) pick up. I would recommend the original works of Milton Erikson and Richard Bandler (neither one are pick up books btw)

Rapport and authority are important in pickup, however so is experimental thinking and i applaud you for not following the crowd. You are upholding the highest (lost) value of the PU community. Individual thought and experimentation.

OF COURSE reading won't get you laid but step out of the your mind set and let me ask you this : How many millions of guys out there are just like Mystery was and just like most of the so called best pua's were? Lonely ass losers. Now ive never had issues with talking to women once i get to know them but approach anxiety and kino escalation are two things i am absolutely pathetic at. SO WHAT DID I DO? i read a review about The Game and i was hooked.no...let me rephrase that. I saw some form of HOPE! i dug deeper and did solid reading for 3-4 weeks (not like i was doing ANYTHING BETTER WITH MY LIFE ) So after this lesson and new light on life i actually went out to a friends house party and met a girl. What did i do? i simply applied some kino,got tons of Ioi's and bang i k closed this chick .Now the old Matt would have spoken to her about her ex bfriends and built too much damn rapport...not the new Matt equipped with some BASIC and essential skills to succeed with women.

So seriously reading may not get me laid but it definetely has sparked some new inner game in me.YES i shouldve stopped being a pu$$y all those years back bla bla bla but hey im just glad i found some help from a bunch of books? I'm also real greatful for discovering it...im recommending all these books to my fellow AFC friends. so in the short term : NO you will not get laid. Long term : not a definete yes but certainly a BETTER chance than being an AFC loser!
