| I used to be against alcohol in the sense that it won't improve your mood if you aren't already in a good mood, but I've found that over time I am so incredibly social after one or two drinks, or maybe a shot or 2, that its like I pull inspiration from places I didn't know existed. You'll hear about how musicians smoked pot back in the day, or classics like Bach, Beethoven or Mozart used opium when they wrote their pieces, is it so wrong to treat alcohol with as much respect? To dismiss it as "liquid courage"? I see where the "courage" comes from, but I find myself pulling c&f things on the spot, no canned shit, so good that I literally create totally unique memories from them. Some people say it slows the mind down, but its amazing that the mind is so fast that it has to slow down in order to be useful on the spot, in real time. This is "the zone", this is why good athletes get so much money; they can tap into it better than average people can. Not everyone can be Kobe or Ronaldo, I believe people are truly built and/or programmed differently.
I already know one of the disagreements to this, "you aren't really yourself because you're not on alcohol all the time." I agree with this sentiment, but I think its too simple an explanation. I think there are 3 reasons people are AFC. First is confidence, the second is comfort, and the third is creativity. You can have the balls to approach, you can believe women are really interested in you and you aren't an ugly POS, but your mind is moving too fast to be creative and effective; you miss the golden opportunities that would have presented themselves otherwise. When you aren't creative, you aren't really social, and then you get the other 2 ghosts to come back to haunt you when you don't get the results you wanted. This is why there is so much canned shit out there, some people fake their creativity and then have the audacity to say that people who drink alcohol aren't being real... lol. That's beside the point, I just felt the need to say it. But you know what, I have been pretty good sober. Sometimes everything just clicks, but sometimes it doesn't. Since 90% of the world is pretty much AFC, I'd say shit just doesn't click most of the time, for most people.
If I were to sit you down in a room, and command you to be creative, what are the chances that you will actually be creative and not just deliberately weird? I'm sure you remembered when your art teacher told you to sit down and draw a bunch of bullshit that you didn't want to draw, and sometimes the art teacher would allow you to "free draw". Free draw? You can draw ANYTHING. If you're like me, you probably spent more time thinking about what to draw in the "free draw" than actually drawing.
Or how about this, go walk up to your favorite comedian and ask them to tell you a new joke on the spot. They'll probably tell you to fuck off because you're the 20th person to ask them that day alone. Are comedians not really funny because they aren't funny all the time? Are athletes not efficient thinkers because their explanations of how they won after the game in the interviews are usually "We just went out and played ball"? Could Beethoven not really write a masterpiece because he used opium? Are you not a brilliant, c&f, confident "artist" because you don't like canned shit (ripping off other artists) and need to slow your incredibly fast and eloquent mind down with alcohol? Who said that these create 2 identities? Drinking alcohol doesn't instill you with knowledge, you're not swallowing Encyclopedia Britannica, you're allowing your mind to chew the food for thought and enjoy the taste, instead of choking and regurgitating fast food crap you picked up off the internet that makes you feel like a genetically modified piece of shit... Sorry if you took offense to that, I just hate the idea of "memorizing" how to be social, its robotics, you're not really in the moment.
That was my analysis. Note: I'm only talking about myself consuming alcohol, not the target, and everyone is effected differently. Also, I'm not telling you to go get totally shit faced.
P.S. this post was not written under the influence. If I was under the influence, it probably would have taken me a 10th of the time to gather my thoughts and articulate this. _________________ The best PUA advice is also the best fighting advice.
