my brother's facing senior year in Harvard without ever having being kissed and needs major coaching!

I'm starting with a makeover and tips for his posture. We don't have much money and almost his entire wardrobe is unfashionable in my opinion.

He feels really insecure because of all the rich preppy kids.

What priorities in Style do you think we should set?

a) invest in a few preppy clothes and have him walk around in the same few outfits (like black, grey, dark blue basics, so it's not so obvious?)
b) invest in urban basics, cheap to mid price range so he has the full range of clothes (shirts, polos, sweaters etc. each in a few colors)
c) peacock - have bright colors or a totally individual style, so he stands out and doesn't fall into the same category as the other kids

I think value wise you'd be better off getting a well made (possibly tailored) suit jacket and trousers, aim for something tight fitting and modern, in black, which can be worn with any colour shirt. Have him wear this daily, whenever he leaves his room.

Look at brands like FCUK, BOSS for some mid-priced yet very awesome fitting suit jackets. Because of the nature of the suit jacket and trousers, it can be worn multiple days in a row, and that will be your 'recognized style' as such and if you continue, no questions will be asked, you will just be the style king. Italian slim fit, with shorter arms, tight under the shoulder is my preference, but I guess comfort is important too.

Never wear a tie, except on formal occasions. Attending lectures dressed smartly may even earn you some kudos from lecturers and will definitely set you at a higher level than your peers, in terms of style from onlookers.

Change shirts daily, vary between colours and have a somewhat wide spectrum of these, Black, White, toss in a few exotic colours, such as pink, possibly lime and even pinstripe/patterned shirts in colours like red, blue. Wear these in no particular order and aim to grow your collection of shirts by around 1 every month/3 weeks to keep a fresh collection.

Where other people will wear A&F, somewhat generic branding, which sometimes have no real design short of the name, you will just be remembered as the awesomely stylish suit guy. Just make sure you have some good black shoes too.

With this suit you will naturally have alpha male qualities, suit the style of a conscientious provider, demonstrate ability to look after your clothing (always make sure shirts are pressed, possibly starched regularly, clean.) and look after yourself (groom daily, make sure your skin is in good condition, you shave daily).

Suits naturally give confidence in my opinion, and can portray either businesslike seriousness, when worn in combination with certain shirts, and say, a tie.

Suits are also excellent casual wear, when worn with a more exotic colour as I said about before and without a tie. With the correct personality adjustment, confidence and willingness to open conversations with random strangers, you can establish yourself as the life of the party, become the centre of attention.

You'll gain respect from your peers and lecturers, looks from girls, but remember to keep your cool and not become needy of attention, just go with the flow and don't push it too hard from the start that your trying to get girls, just be cool with whatever and make friends.

It shouldn't be too expensive to put together such a combination, decent suits run $400 - $600 from FCUK, BOSS all the way up to hand tailored Savile Row masterpieces for £2000+ ($3000+).

The great thing about going with the aforementioned brands is if some douche comes up and asks 'oh what suit is that' you can answer respectively with the brand and have no worries that the guy is going to call it a shitty suit.

Also, get a really good haircut to match the suit, probably mid length, but make sure it retains neatness and can be kept tidy. Have it trimmed every 4-6 weeks.

Have your brother get tanning and working out too, it's always a good testosterone/ confidence boost.

One post early on in this thread said that if you have to give a speech(I have NO problems speaking in public, playing in a symphony cured that) the main reason he had success was because he had an interesting life. All Ive done with my life so far is sit inside and play video games. How do I make up for that in a speech about myself so I don't portray myself as Generic Bob.

The best advice I can give to US guys is to get a fake ID before starting your freshman year. A good one. This will be the best $150.00 you ever spend.

Now you can get into bars and clubs. Now you can have older friends. Now you can be the go-to alcohol buying guy. Now you can demonstrate confidence because every time they see you use it you are being "dangerous."

The second best advice is to learn to play the guitar. Girls love musicians. Sit shirtless on the grass playing Jack Johnson and you will not even need to open.

The third is to heavily research your dorm options before selecting. Choose the athletic dorm or the party dorm. Mere proximity to the party will ensure you have at least something to do.

The fourth is to minor in something female-friendly. Hot chick heavy majors include Psychology, Literature, Art, Art History, Anthropology, and Sociology. A few cocky-funny comments in class will catch their eyes.

The fifth, if applicable, is to have your car on campus freshman year. This is usually a hassle and expensive, but will make you the go-to fun-outing guy. Girls want to go to the beach? No problem. You can help get them there. Girl wants to go buy a new outfit for her sorority formal in the next town over. No problem. You'll drive her. Girls need a ride home at night. You're their man. Get the picture?

College, especially freshman year, reduces everyone to the same level. No cars, no jobs, no money, difficulties getting booze. If you can overcome one or more of these obstacles, you are in. Men and women will flock to you, and you will have power over them.

I had a dumbass friend that thought a fake I.D. was a good idea. He got it from illegal immigrants who ran a business ripping off college kids. It cost 230 bucks, it looked convincing but they forgot to add some detail. He got caught, he got a 600 dollar fine and his drivers license suspended for 6 months, lol dumbass. In my college town all 3 clubs allow 18-20 year olds in, just no drinks. And I am not about to risk 700-800 dollars just to drink alchohol. If i had that money to spare to risk it on that I'd be putting it towards room and board which is going to run me into debt for the sake of socialzing

Guitar is for fags. There I said it. So many douchebags play the guitar, and they can't actually play anythign worthwhile, they just know 1 or 2 songs that impress women, not an actual musician. Ive been playing the cello for a good 14 years now, no need to learn a lesser string instrument. Also, shirtless? Only skinny fit dudes could do it, not us normal guys who like food lol.

Why athletic dorm? What about us guys who hate dorms? How would we find out which one is the party dorm? I went in and asked the people and the admission people, whether it was the students who had a part time job there or the actual UNI employees wouldn't tell me. I already can draw, and draw well. I don't really want to pay for MORE classes and increase my tuition by MORE just to take classes in something I already know. And trust me, after being the only guy in HS that could animate, do 3d models, paint with all types of paint, sculpt etc, I didn't have girls that were interested in it.

yes, clubs and groups are the key to meeting people in college, because it is so vast there is no way to meet everyone instead stick with a close nit group.

You shouldnt do this untill you build a group of girls around you. The thing in college is to talk to multiple women and have them on you. This builds alot of DHV because it shows that you are a desired bachelor. In time women will come talk to you.

I don't know what college you're heading to, but most do not allow freshman to park their cars on campus. Or if they do, it is expensive. If you are the only guy that has a car, girls will have to want your transportation.

ok, so i just joined this forum, and have no pick up artist experience, but i am trying to learn. I will be a sophomore this upcoming year, and that means the new upcoming freshman will bring opportunities. There will be tons of girls away from home for the first time, not knowing what to expect, so from the get-go i need to show some of these girls that i am the guy they should be coming to pre-game with, and the one who will show them a good time. I feel this is a great chance for me to be the guy that girls hit up to chill with before a party. Does anyone have some good ideas on how to get there attention, and how to have them coming to me and my friends to hang out with. One obstacle is that since i am a sophomore, i wont be living in the dorms with all my potential targets, i will be a couple blocks away in a second year apartment complex, so yea.

Easy, hang around on campus (near the dorms) between classes. Have a smoke with your friends or grab lunch in the dining hall. Always be laughing, and having a good time.

Another easy way is to go back to your old dorm room (preferably with someone so you don't look like a creeper) and be like "I used to live here." You don't even have to have actually lived there.

I'm gonna bring up something different than just running game here, finding wingmen. For you new college freshmen odds are you will be on your own, with maybe 1 or 2 guys max that may have graduated with you from the same high school.

Easiest way to meet people within your dorm = leave your door open. It seems obvious, but in the first couple weeks every freshmen will take some time to wander the halls to become acclimated to their surroundings. If you leave the door open while you are listening to music, playing a video game, or having people over, you will draw some attention. And if anybody, guy or girl, walks by and pauses out of curiosity, don't hesitate for a second to invite them in just to say hello. I was on both sides of this my freshmen year, and sometimes I'd step inside a room and introduce myself if I saw anything that showed common ground. Maybe you have a poster for a band that someone else is a fan of, etc.

It's the easiest way to find people you have common ground with asap. Early on, after you meet people for the first time it is incredibly easy to stop by their room on a weekend and say "hey, I heard about a party tonight, let's check it out." It's been repeated on this thread that showing that you know a lot of people boosts your social standing, and this is a simple way to network and hit the proverbial ground running.

A great way to get a number from any girl you talk to in class but want to expand from that would be to do something like this. After class as your walking out talking be like alright i actually have to meet someone to study and im really late (or anything that will create a time restraint) and as you start to walk away look back at the girl, and be like text me later today... hopefully she will realize she doesnt have your number. It will either go one of two ways. As you start to walk away she will tell you to wait because she doesnt have your number. The other way it might go is she doesnt realize she doesnt have it. In this case just wait until next class and when you see her, just be like so i thought we were friends.... you never texted me, you stink. She will tell you she didnt have it... then you can start to tease her pretty easily for making up excuses. Either way its an easy great way to get a girl in classes phone number. This could also work with a girl you see often in your dorm. The important part is to make sure she clearly heard you tell her to text you later.

Its not really a yes or no answer to that I'm afraid. If you weren't getting along with her, no rapport , no connection this would be perceived as arrogant instead of playful. So make sure you have that before going for it. Remember all to keep in conducive to you, if she doesn't think you are the kind of guy that would say that , it will lose its effect and she will walk away remembering a rather odd ending instead of a good time spent with you.

I am very strict on myself about being clean. I am not going to do any drugs or alcohol in college since there are not benefits to doing them. I don't care about other people doing it, it's their body, let them do what they want. People on the forums and in other PUA literature, they say you should be the person they all go to for pre-gaming but I want to follow college rules and not allow any drugs and alcohol in my dorm room. How can you still be clean and have people come to me for fun? I have Netflix so would a weekly movie night or a video game night work on an off day or during the day before any sort of partying work effectively?
