Hey guys, a bit of a newbie here looking for some advice. My texting game with women has been alright for the past coupe of years, but i recently decided to change it up a bit (i feel my older texts were too revealing and left little mystery about my life, and i would unintentionally send dlv in my messages). I met this girl in a exam-prep course and got her number. I talked to her for maybe 10 minutes before I got it, and when I texted her the next day, we talked about exams we were currently writing (it wasn't going anywhere, she was trying to stick with the bare bones discussion) It was going great, was making her qualify herself ("your response time isn't impressive. i don't know if this is going to work") she went for it hard, apologizing (alot!)

from there, our discussion went to graduation, and the end went a bit like this


me: didn't [your school]*(i am graduating high school, as is she)* already have their grad?
her: yeah but i went shopping with my friend who has his grad on the 30th
me: sounds like you get to cruise all the grads you want
her: not really, he just asked me to be his date haha
me: who am i competing with?



and she didn't reply lol. i have some friends who know her, and they say she is shy, but always hangs around with her girlfriends. Apparently she is the type of girl who has thousands of pics on facebook, but they are all of her and her friends, no guys. I'm sure you know the type.

Anyway, i'm obviously looking for a bit of your guys' insight. Did I play it too heavy? She is shy, so she is probably not used to the forward approach/alpha-malism i was projecting. I appreciate your advice, should I wait a week and hope for a text or am i burnt?

found out that the same girl was a moll for a major drug dealer,has a child with him,hes up to his teeth in a drug gang feud and is suspect in more murders than billy the kid and his house has been shot up several times--where she lives

but she looks sooo cute lol--shes afraid to watch buffy on her own lol

and this is a chick who has maybe hooked up with 3 other guys before, she's just a shy chick who's always seen with her friends. the bad-boy not giving a fuck hasn't worked in previous texts. like i said, i've negged her and gotten her to qualify (worked nicely) and she was trying like mad to keep the convo going, but i fucked her up with the competing comment, which obviously scared her off.

lesson learned, i won't be talking boring shit in texts anymore,

and i won't text her if i don't hear back first. she's just a cute face with a number attatched.

the one thing i am curious about is speeding up the conversation into your 'big dreams' style...how are you doing it? a sudden change of topic feels weird and unresourceful, makes you look lazy imo
