Okay, I'm black I love ALLLL girls, but for some reason I would take a white HB 6 over like a Hispanic HB 8 etc.....And I really don't have a good reason as to why I'm like this (I'm not the only one my other black friends are the same way) I find myself MORE attracted to white girls. I have been told by white females that go for black guys why they do so......but none of us black guys can come up with an answer as to why we go for them. Sorry if this offends anybody I was just wondering if anyone did some kind of study on this....

Evolution...The more difference between 2 mates genes the greater the chance of healthy offspring. You're not attracted to members of your own family as their genes are very similar...which causes problems with offspring.

On snowyt's line of thinking, hispanic girls are closer to you in the gene pool, so that's why you are less attracted to them. Possibly. Or it just be random preferences, who knows.

trust me, I am in the same boat as you, I am black and have always been more attracted to white women, For me, I guess its where I grew up.. It was mostly a white town, and i was one of only a few black guys in town, So as i got all that is what i got used to. and now, and when i am at the mall or something, I would rather pick up white girls then any other type of girl.. thats my situation

I'm a black dude who grew up first in the projects--moved to cali (in a predominantly a white neighborhood) and now am back on my own in the hood of upstate ny.

there are more black girls in the area but i find myself waaay more attracted to a black girl thats' more "suberban" and or prep" whatev u wanna call it.

Yeah, I'm Indian and grew up in the suburbs so I do find myself more attracted to white girls too. I find that white women actually treat me better than Indian ones. It's ironic but i think that's a result of what I believe to be faulty upbringing by most Indian parents. I think Indian girls grow up with a distorted view of sexuality and relationships, lower than average self esteem, they end up overvaluing material things. This is obviously a generalization, but that's been my experience with them so far and it does infuriate me at times, because I would much rather have pride in my own race rather than look down on them as I currently do.

As far as white chicks, I just feel like they have more fun and that's why we like them, who knows.

Well, I think that it is easier than that... Sure the genepool and all that is all nice but I think it is about what you are used to.

I am a whatever and grew up in a place where most people are blonde. Im not blonde myself but I find myself liking non blondes better. Especially 4 non blondes, at once.

Basically, I like the fact that they are exotic to me, they are something new and exciting.

This isn't a matter of genes. It's social conditioning and it depends on where you live.

The skinny blonde female is the current standard of beauty in most western cultures, and that's what going to be most attractive to most people who grew up with these messages that tell them what to like.

I grew up in America. While I was living there, I thought white girls were the most attractive. After living in Korea for nearly a year, I now think that Korean girls are very attractive. I didn't think too much of Asian women before this.

In America, Barbie is the standard of beauty. In Korea, it's the indigenous Korean pop idols.

black girls got attitude, and play games much more (generaly speaking) jealousy, lying, bitch shild, etc.

White girls have easy going parents (generaly speaking), and they like black guys (generaly) so it only makes sense to take the easy way


BUT YALL KNOW DAMB WELL THAT when it comes to BIG BOOTY... African american women beat caucasian, hispanics, and asians. HAnds down. it depends what physical you find attractive in a woman: some pple prefer a cute face, others prefer a round buttox.

This I doubt is a valid explaination. While we do prefer people of different genetic make-up (specifically the genes that cause the antigen-expression in our immune system), that doesn't mean that we want our partner to be as different as possible.

As my professor (an expert on smell & behavior) put it: That would mean that the african guy in the praerie is craving for the inuit woman ... would be kind of unpractical for mating.

Actually research shows that this smell attraction seems to be more of a screening ... that you DON'T sleep with people who are TOO similar. So it's not about maximizing the difference in your genetic make up, but about achieving a necessary difference.

In general people prefer mates of their own ethnicity.

So I'll go with the social conditioning explaination.

Actually their might be an explaination for a slight bias towards light colored skin in women and dark colored skin:
Women are more attractive in their fertile phase and one sign for fertility is that their skin lightens up.
Women prefer men with a darker skin tone, because they are perceived as more manly.

However, I doubt that this can explain a clear preference for someone several skintones lighter/darker which obviously does occur quite a bit.

In the end preferences are highly individual and their is still some mystery which makes it great

Plus one thing about evolution which you must always keep in mind, is that is creates DIVERSITY within society leading to many NICHES. So also in mating strategies and mate selection their may be a widespread general strategies but there always must be alternative strategies and individual differences.
In some cases, there is even a competitive equilibrium within a species for mating strategies - if all men acted the same, then women would adapt. If all people cheat, no one trusts anyone and new rules start to form, which make it harder for the cheaters - and the non-cheaters will have an edge. On the otherhand, if all people trust each other, the cheater will have a huge edge!
