So I finally went out to a club tonight with some of my good friends and here's my experience:

Like what most agree on, clubs are way too loud to start a conversation, and this one in particular, is a little smaller than most clubs, therefore the music was too loud to open up girls.

I managed to open two sets but trying to talk over the music wasn't worth it. Plus, in a club environment I understand that there are many distractions as well. The best thing to do is isolate, but there wasn't really a place to isolate the targets. Even the smoking area was a bad place to talk.

Anyway, the real problem lies here:
My friends just told me to go start dancing with girls by first dancing of course, making eye contact with the girl, then smoothly easing your way in, having both you and the girl acknowledge each other. This definitely isn't my game and I don't believe it's effective either. I think it's kind of sleazy. Don't get me wrong, it's fun when you start dancing with a girl, but in the end, nothing really comes out of it. Yeah there's body language/interaction but I don't feel it's enough to hook the girl. Furthermore, there are a bunch of other guys doing the same thing and getting the same result: nothing in the end.

So what's the best club game? I think opening/conversing/isolation/escalating is the best way to game at a club or a party. Should I just do this little animal-like-mating-ritual dance type of game thing if there's no other way to really talk to girls or is there something else?

Good question, I would like to hear people's thoughts on this too.

There is plenty material out there on dance floor game (search this forum as well as the net, even youtube has a few vids, its a subject on its own).

Clubs may be tricky to have conversation yes, but if you're a keen club goer it would definitely be in your best interests find ways and make it work for you. I would say 90% of my pick ups are at night clubs, then again I dont have convo's on the dance floor, ever (save that for the bar area or lobby).

I am also a big fan of dancing, if youre confident, fun and a 'crowd operator' on the floor (being a good dancer doesnt hurt either), if you display this you will attract women around you, own the floor and you wont have to approach. Once you have this social proof and interest, its alot of easier to engage them and quickly get them off the dance floor and isolate (and as javs mentioned, the twirly spin is a classic and works). The great thing about letting them come to you on the floor and surround you, is that opening one girl immediately causes competition all wondering who youre going to 'pick'. Great position to be in

And as mentioned say as little as possible on the dance floor, use body language and your energy. Its very easy to look like an eager fool when youre constantly leaning into her and screaming into her ear in order to be heard (deep resonating voice of course makes this easier but no point in talking over music if you dont have to).

yeah i agree, attend more clubs, and you will get more comfortable with dancing. When i first started i was uncomfortable and didnt know what i was doing. Now I am confident to go out by myself and get my grind on.

Remember, if you mess up, you will never see them again. There are more girls on the dance floor to go after. Unless its a small dance floor and selection is limited. Just dont take rejection seriously.

Even if you dont pull any females, you will have fun.

Typically clubs will have a smoke area outside, thats where you can talk to them.

Another question, what does it mean to be a "crowd operator"?

Youre the center of attention, have high energy, youre the guy that appears to be having the most fun, everyone notices you and is drawn to you. Others 'feed' off your high energy and confidence and this gets them pumped and onto your level. You are the individual that has the biggest effect on everyone's experience on the night. ie. their experience is better with you there, whereas the shy guy in the corner of the club wont have much (if not any) effect on those around him, its like he was never even there.
