I was talking to this girl through texts and this is how the conversation went. I definitely thought I had some attraction built up, but I think I might've killed it.

Me: Out of all the [Name]'s I know, you're probably the second best.

Her: Oh second best? Come on now.

Me: Oops, wrong [Name], sorry.

Her: Wayyyy to go.

Me: Don't worry, you're still up there.

Her: Uh alrighty.

Me: God you could at least try to play along (not sure exactly what I meant there)

I haven't responded yet. I'm thinking I'll just ignore this and maybe bring up some more conversation in a day or two and pretend that didn't happen. Unless you guys have some sort of different idea, I'd rather not just drop this girl unless it's beyond all repair. She seems pretty cool.

The rest is pretty bad, I'd recommend you don't get too witty with the texts. It can be confusing and sometimes just not make sense, like this.

If she goes really cold on you in the convo, don't push it, just let it go and stop texting. If you've already hung out with her in the past, wait a couple weeks and text her to come hang out (ie let her forget about your texting debacle). As usual say your going somewhere (hopefully with people) and itd be cool if she came too. Be sure you invite her well before the day you want her to go, cause girls plan plan plan and she will have her plans set 3 days in advance. Invite on Tuesday for a Friday.... Wednesday for a Saturday.

If she's cold on your next convo, you wait and then a few weeks later invite her out and she doesn't go, stop entirely. It's over.

Nahh, we've only met online. I doubt she really cares that much and is thinking about it, but I think I'll probably text her somewhere next week, do some texting game less likely to backfire and then tell her to come do something with me. We'd been talking every day, and she said I was probably the most interesting guy to ever talk to her online, so I'm just gonna sit back and see if she starts anything, if not, I'll text her way later.

Killing a text convo happens to all of us sometimes. I think you are on the right track...just hang back and pretend it never happened next time you talk to her.

The best situation would be if she initiates convo with you first, because then you know its on. If she doesn't many would think you should move on, but I think its still fair game.
