How many guys on here have actually benefited from taking part in the "community" - and by that I mean reading books, posting on here, watching videos, etc?

I feel like there are two distinct classifications of people that come on here - Guys that have great success, and guys that fail. In my eyes there isn't a middle ground; you can say you haven't YET reached sexual abundance, but if you are not consistently progressing in visible ways, you are failing.

I realize that it's been said a hundred times, but today I feel like it should be said once more... STOP READING, GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING. Seriously, I see this over and over with guys who constantly look for information from others rather than going out and observing things for themselves. I feel like starting pickup is like being stranded in a desert, and being handed a map to the nearest water source. Some guys look over the map, and go out looking for water, while other guys waste away analyzing the map and trying to figure out how it will lead them to water. Maybe the map doesn't have a little circle that says "You Are Here", so figure it out for yourself! The guy who finds the water, even if he stumbles about for days baking in the sun, is still going to be infinitely more replenished than the man who sits staring at the map saying to himself "I know how to get water!"

Therein lies my concern with the community. If you read a book on pick-up, you are no more successful with women than you were beforehand, period. Regardless of how much you know or think you know about women by reading the forum and reading books, you are no more successful with women than you were beforehand UNLESS you are actually going out and succeeding with women.

I feel like the label "Pick Up Artist" is especially problematic, because it goes to people's heads. If you consider yourself a master, obviously you are going to be more reluctant to fail than someone who accepts that they are always a student, because failure means a shattering of your self-perception. If you get blown out by every set one night, how can you call yourself a PUA? So there it is! The reluctance to fail because of adherence to a pointless label that **Spoiler Alert** MOST people who truly succeed with women don't use to describe themselves.

With that said, you guys should NEVER be judging yourself by how often you fail. If you close 3 girls in a year, and you only opened 3 girls in a year, you might consider yourself pretty successful...after all, your close rate is 100% Are you more successful though, than your buddy who blitzes through dozens of women before closing, but still gets laid on a weekly basis? My answer is no, and this may be a point of contention for some, but personally I don't give 2 shits about how much you understand the psychology of an interaction - if you aren't getting girls at the rate you wish to be, you are not succeeding.

So, use books (and the forum) to help with sticking points that you notice in-field and stop wasting your time trying to learn how to fuck girls instead of trying to fuck girls.

Good post man.

I just saw a quote somewhere that I really like... "Trying is just planning to fail"

I like that message...Don't try, just DO.

That is my problem, I'll admit. With everything else I do, I get wrapped up in research before I act. Same with this. So I'll spend hours on the forum, yet stay home on the weekends. Kind of makes those hours spent on here wasted time if I'm not applying what I've learned.

So, the goal is to get out and DO.

I registered on this board quite a while ago, and had gone out a few times and applied what I learned here. You know what? I had a great time! I didn't do very well, no # closes, but I DID have some good conversations, and I DID step out of my comfort zone to do it.

So after coming back to the board this week after close to a year off, I'm really excited to get back into it and work on and step up my game.

I'm telling myself no more endless research and "trying" to go out, just get the fuck out and DO IT!

Great post, nice to see a post that is critical of peoples attitudes towards the community without flat out saying that the material is the problem.

The material in many (not all pickup books/forums etc) is good, but can be completely missapplied by a novice and will not benefit the user of the material at all. This is why wemust get out aNd practice. It's just like learning guitar, the books will help you learn songs and chords, but you've got to train your body and mind to be able to play like van halen.

Ah at last.

This post is great.

To me it speaks of open rebellion against the community.

Respect........

You are not alone in your thoughts.

The book THE GAME has a lot to answer for.

I am completely pissed of with people trying to copy, model themselfs on some complete tool like MYSTERY or STYLE.

This site can very helpfull.
It can also do you a lot of HARM.

I SUSPECT THAT IT PUTS MORE PRESSURE ON GUYS IN CLUBS BECAUSE THEY NOW KNOW OTHER PICK UP ARTISTS ARE AT WORK AS WELL AS HIGH VALUE GUYS.

Ask yourself a question if you never had heard of the community you would not be looking out for PUA'S or other ALPHA men or any other shit than can fuck you up.

Just think of times when some dude was winding you up or having a dig at you.
Before you community, you would have have just had a dig back at him.

Now its all out amog war.

Total bullshit.
