Anyway IMHO, after a couple of months people will forget about the show..As Long As there is not a 2nd season and new guys can go back to canned material. Or this will force a lot of new material to come out.

It takes a little bit of thinking on your feet but I have had tremendous success with observational material. You just have to think of something that will pose a tought instead of a Yes/no answer

i personally dont think it matters the point of them is to get you into a conversation with the hb's. you may not start off on the best note but you are talking.......they are talking ...........and btw they think they're being funny by saying "you saw that on vh1" so they're gonna laugh at the next thing you say regardless from laughter build up(they were planning on laughing at you while you walk away in shame for using canned lines, unless they're annoyed in which case you werent getting anywere anyway)its not really that hard to switch it around just harder than it has to be.

before VH1 I was hearing similar lines so when I catch someone using the lines it doesn't affect me. Simply saying hi as an opener doesn't grab me either. If you want to truely open you have to be yourself and be completely original.

You don't need to be original to get girls, you need to be original to keep getting girls. Using lines that were used on VH1, although not recommended, is still not impossible. Just cause one TV program uses some good material doesn't make it no-go. You just need to know how to recover from attacks such as these.

Option 1- act like you never heard of the show. Say you never heard of Mystery or The Pickup Artist. Ask her to describe it and start playing with her. Through in some lines that weren't used so that she'd think you are original.

Option 2- act like you're better then the show. exaggerate and elevate, show her that you don't care that you're using lines from the show.

dang... ya after i saw that show i was like, oh shat.. everyones game is getting ruined with this show, and stuck up biatches are gonna be looking for guys using any type of opener just to shut them down.. I was in a set just fine on Saturday when some girls at another table came over and starting going into how I looked stupid in my 'peacocking' clothes and then explained to the set i was talking to that I was one of this "pick up guys." if i hadn't fumbled the conversation a moment earlier it would have been easy enough to plow through, but i was already in a bad position in the set, so salvage wasn't worth the effort.
