Recently was reading a certain book about game when it dawned on me why I had overcomplicated game for so long.

I was simply trying to learn too much at once. Trying to learn every single principle about game all at once is like surfing for the first time on a tidal wave.

You need to break it down into small, achievable and learnable milestones. The term 'baby steps' applies here. Learn one method each day / however long it takes until you master it.

For example, openers. Even this is a broad topic - how about, rapport. Rapport is important. Take a week of your social interactions to master building rapport. Focus on this until it is second nature to you, then move on to another technique. Do this until you have build yourself a strong arsenal of tactics and principles that are second nature to you; just like you would practice your soccer kick enough that it becomes instinct.

Good post!
I was not doing this and was stuck for years.

I think this applies to every skill you learn in life. You must create small goals that will lead to a bigger goal (mastering pickup or ultimate life style).
