socal has a TON of places. i used to visit there about once every 2-6 months for 5 years strait (ie i went there quite often)
every mall ive gone to has been full of potential mon-sun morning through night.
past that I would suggest hollywood/LA if its within driving distance, they are 100% filled with options.
use the bus system. lots and lots of encounters to be had.
also UCLA, USC.
