So, I'm a girl, and I have been curious about the rating system that men rank women into. How does one know where they are on the scale, and how does one move up it? What factors is it based on, purely looks, or other things also? For example if the girl had an amasing career, or could pole dance, was more confident, would that move her up the scale? What about scent? Or is it looks purely? What are the factors that put one into the HB 8-10 category?

its all based on looks, guys rate girls completely on appearance at first, which might sound shallow to a woman because they look for personality. but a HB10 w/ bad personality can make her a 0

IMO a funny girl get a bonus +2 points, & girls who can hang out with the guys (like play football, or go paintball) is also a plus

Doesn't matter if it's petty or not really, it's just how men think. Women are equally as petty but in different ways.

So, appearance wise how can a girl get herself up the scale above others?

the only way to make a 10, (which is the overall goal, right?) is a girl every guy wants to date for her looks with a personality everyone wants to know (even if it was stuck in an ugly body)

the scoring is different for everyone, since people are raised in different areas of the country with different average scores (which all become 5s) so I happen to have grown up in California. My average tends to settle around most other peoples 6.5-7.

The big thing that tends to apply is really just like the famous rap line

"I want a lady in the street but a freak in the bed"

Basically every guy wants a girl that can be just that...a GIRL. Somewhat innocent, classy, but always has that aire of adventure and lets it show. Good sense of humor, well cultured, intelligent, fun, and any cool skills (motorcycle, guitar, etc) are always appreciated.


But in general the full scale aside from HB10 is LOOKS ONLY. The thing is, confidence can get grouped in with looks since the more confident you are, you stand differently, both guys and girls and this is perceived and lumped into the looks.

One thing that is physical that most girls don't seem to recognize as being as important to guys as it is is HAIR. Awesome hair is a big deal.

Honest every single guy you meet will have a different rating system. Here are a couple that i've come across.........

The girl automatically starts off at 10. From there every negative trait she has is a minus. It could be .5 to 1 full point depending on the impact of it. (ex. -1 cuz she's got chicken legs, -1 bad teeth etc etc)

Another method is ranges. I use this a lot because an 8.1 is not the same as an 8.9. Theres a huge gap and it isn't far to say that they are both 8's. An 8 for me is a girl thats got the full package, but not necessarily the best. All her traits are above average (legs, chest, height, etc.) If there is a serious flaw she's an automatic 7 which is average or a bit above it.

examples of PHYSICAL traits i look for
1) curvy (enough body mass, not too skinny which i think most girls are)
2) nice teeth
3) legs
4) shape of nose
5) does she know how to dress and put on make

***not every guy is looking for a big chest and ass***

After a rating is given for physical appearance next is personality
1) is she funny (can she make a joke or do something that'll make a group of guys crack up)
2) do we get along and flow
3) does she want me or my money
4) is she interesting or just another girl thats hobby is shopping

We get the 2 ratings add em up and divide by 2 to get an average score. If she's lacking personality the score will be extremely low and most likely this relationship will not last long. I know a girl who's average looking, but after I had a conversation with her she said she was going to attend harvard law school. That just made her even more attractive because it made her unique and special.

She said petty, as in just as petty as men.


When I use the term it is solely covering looks, that's not to say I would get into a relationship with someone over looks alone- you need to have the complete package, but if I'm rating a girl by number like that then I am referring to how appealing she is to the eye.

I won't say this would put you up much on the 1-10 scale for me, but if you wanted to come across as more *attractive* to me then awesome hair is a bonus, as someone else said, making me feel good and being a fun person is very important, intelligence is good, as is being able to hold a real conversation with me, I do like girls who smell nice (especially an almost musky scene) and I'm a big sucker for 'arty' chicks.

So, in conclusion (you can tell it's assignment season right now), you can't do too much to change where you stand on the 1-10 scale for me, but there are a few things you can do to make yourself more attractive, which will certainly make it a lot easier for you to get my jeans off!

Okay, a couple I noticed were teeth and hair, hmmm! The teeth thing would be easy to get up to scratch I think, the hair thing is taking some time. What type of hair do men like? I had it shorter but I'm trying to grow it out like Mila Kunis (damn, can't post a link, but she has long layered brown hair with warm highlights).

Do guys like blonds or brunettes more, or redheads or does that not matter? I have an Italianish complexion so I don't think it would work too well if I bleached it blond...

Also, I'd like an opinion on something. Would it be better if the woman was a stripper, or that she had taken pole dancing/lap dancing lessons as a hobby? Or are both good? If you had to pick between the two which would it be?

style and color is subjective.

when we say hair we mean like quality of hair. like smooth silky hair i guess....like its a bigger deal than most girls realize.

Hmm, thanks for the tip Scamps! The pole dancing class I was looking at had burlesque nights too so I'll take that into account.

I do agree that girls are able to move up the scale with hard work. I'd say the majority of those celebrities got to how they look today with hard work (well, and money to get the right stuff).

It's interesting to see how people view the way this scale is rated so differently!

You know, this must be the only forum I've ever used where the moment a girl posts everyone doesn't straight away jump to try and hit on her. Interesting, not surprising at all, but interesting none-the-less..

if anything, we're almost the opposite. We tend to trash talk the girls that show up since a shit ton of them think they have all the answers, and they don't lol
