Without Mystery I wouldn't even be here, but we all know that HBs have been watching the show and looking for potential PUAs. So I was thinking, what about turning those old, overused "pickup lines" into good use and play stupid. The conversation may go like this...

HB: You sound like that guy Mystery.
Maverick: Who's Mystery?
HB: He's a pickup artist.
Maverick: Pickup artists just go up to women and use those stupid lines like (and then say a random pickup line) "You're so hot you melt the plastic in my underwear." I'm just chill.
HB: OMG I hate when guys say things like that...blah blah blah

and then you could even branch negs off of whatever she says. and she's not going to argue with you over it because its not likely that she watched all the episodes. she probably only saw one or heard about it from a friend.

i'm new at this and i was just brainstorming. I'm not sure it demonstrates DHV or what but I'm sure we could alter it in a way.
...but its just a thought. what do you experts think of this?

Black Bull has already posted somthing like this.

I think my favourite one for being caught out like that with an opener cam from Blackbull:

PUA: Who lies more, men or women...etc
HB: OMG your one of those pick-up-artists! Blah blah bitch on PUA's
PUA: OMG I KNEW IT WOULDNT WORK! Those guys are total fakes! What do you think of them.. blah blah.
HB: OMG haha ...blah blah

yes, and I happened to have read that post. And i think Black Bull's comeback would be just fine, but its just another option to get around the subject at hand. I guess its the "play stupid" version of it. Thanks for the reply though.

thank god that show was just on VH1 and not MTV or something..... I personally feel sold out by the guy that got his start in a forum that was so secret it was password protected. Way to give back to the community man.....

I hate to disrespect one of the pioneers of the community, but damn... Like let's say you rely on MM routines. A girl catches you and you recover. Fine, you recovered..... but this bitch still knows everything else you're about to use on her. So if you rely on Mystery's package (which if you're new, its expected) then there's nothing you can say to this chick. So really, you're no better off after recovering than if you'd never even approached her.

great point, but u might still be able to neg her. negging is universal. when i was younger, i would neg all the time but didnt know i was doing it. i just didnt, and still dont, have the whole package.
...it would be easier to just find another chick, though.

you cant blame at mystery for making money off of the methods he pioneered. the whole idea behind pick up is to stand out and be different. so as the game changes so must u. if everybody starts using all the lines that used to be unique( making them no longer unique), its time to come up with something new.adapt and evolve.thats what this forum is all about

he's free to do what he likes. I just thought it was a slap in the face to the community. and to be fair to the guys of the original pua forum, mystery didn't invent 'mystery method' anymore than style invented his method. style picked up some things mystery, some things from ross jeffries, some things from DD... and he mixed them together and give it his personal touch. I think Mystery is a genius, but there were dozens of guys from the original forums that gave mystery at least some variations of the ideas and techniques included in what we now call the "Mystery Method". There's nothing wrong with that. But I don't think he's excused from pissing on the community so he can make money off his method. I'm willing to bet there are quite a few of those original pua's from the old forums that aren't collecting any checks from vh1. And it's not just about that. Remember how Mystery used to talk about the community. He said we were all a big family on our quest for success. 80% of the community won't feel any significant negative side-effects from his latest sell-outs. But I'd hate to be part of that 20% that never get the chance to "fake it til they make it". I hope this doesn't sound too disrespectful, like I said he's a genius, but don't pretend he's without blame just because he's Mystery. He may have pissed on the community, but he just drowned that 20%. My $0.02

What the hell happened to him wanting to be a superstar magician??

dude if you're caught being a pickup artist don't make a deal of it, and don't call the guy whose method you use stupid, that is not cool man and making pickup artist look like losers not cool bro, that's like being a bad wing.

Hey Maverick09 -- couldn't resist responding to your post
re: responses to "OH -- you're one of THOSE!"

Perfect, I like what you wrote much better than Black Bull.

If someone said that to me at a club, I would be intrigued and want to continue the conversation....

As Savoy said when asked about the dangers of publicity, "If you've got game, you've got game".....

Yep, what happened to the days when we were the underdogs, the pioneers, the cowboys of the new West. Now we are being flooded by AFC who (although I have no objection to them learning pick up) are slowing things down. It just aint as exciting as it once was.

The trick is to make the experience unforgettable to her.

Several girls have told me, "That Mystery guy is so tacky. If he approached me in a club, I'd probably kick him in the balls. He looks like a rapist" not knowing that I'm a PUA myself. Haha, and yea I don't blame him for going on VH1 though, I just hope there aren't any more seasons that follow. Give it a year or 2 and this thing will blow over, that is if there's no more seasons.

Haha, and have any of you seen on VH1 the commercial for virgin mobile "If you text message to blah blah blah, you will get exclusive openers not shown on TV..."? It's pretty funny.

But I can't really complain too much, I found out about PUA from I think MSN.com when the game was about to come out (Like a year or 2 ago). It said something about a guy picking up Brittany Spears, and I later found out it was Style, and read "The Game."

the attention that pua's are getting is a good thing. give it another couple months and there will be all kinds of people with all kinds of new ideas. this generation is gonna birth a whole new breed of pick up artists.

look at surfing. 30 years ago there were only a few guys doing it. they rode huge heavy boards and couldnt really do much more than ride the waves. now look at people like slater and taj. doing 360 tail side floaters, and kickflips and airs.
ive been surfing jersey 6 years now and theres 12 year olds in hawaii that would make me look like a novice.
the only way to try accel at something is to be challanged and over come the challenge. realistically, the more people that know about this the better.
human psychology will never change so much that the fundamentals of pick up will become ineffective. u just gotta be more creative

I think as long as we stay away from the canned material used on the show we'll be fine, I'd say most sets you go into will never have a clue... I do agree that another season could be really detrimental tho but I'm glad they did it otherwise I would never have believed it...
