I've been there dude.
You feel that an uncontrollable force is beating you back, and that you have no control over it.
Therefore, you feel overpowered, and see no other resolution than to give up.
Well, there's your 2 choices. Give up, or continue.
If you give up,goodbye. Pack your bags and we'll wish you the best.
Although no one will care in the long run, it's understandable. You'll just do what many others do: Quit when faced with a challenge. Go ahead, history will ERASE you, and others who give up. Why should anyone on earth give a shit? We all have our own problems and situations. What makes yours unique? It sucks to say this, but this isn't opinion. IT IS LIFE FACT! QUITTERS ARE DOOMED TO EXTINCTION!
However, if you look within yourself, to push through this nonsense, to develop mental toughness in the game, and to wait it out, and work to be happy within yourself, then do stay, and grow along with each and every other person, not only on this forum, but the whole world.
As for your roommate, what can you do. Assholes will be assholes. I cant tell you what to do to him, as that will be pointless. It is a matter of endurance and dedication.
Regardless of what you do, realize that pick up is more than just women. It is the essence of successful life. Every principle taught is more or less the same in different disciplines (Military training, Academia, even playing chess).
Unless you slowly but surely become satisfied with who you are, what you represent, and how you live life, you'll always let the negative get to you.
Shrug it off. Take some time off. Relax, find something you enjoy.
In Christianity, what your going through is commonly called "A test from God". Whether you believe it is God or nature itself, you ARE being tested. Regardless of religion, you need FAITH in order to move on. Troubles always happen. It's how you respond that matters.
If you still want to quit, again, go ahead, but you will doom yourself.
If you want to stay, wonderful. Time heals all wounds, and clears all obstacles. Be patient.(Trying to learn that right now).
Hope that settles the issue.
