| I know this is going to piss off a lot of you kiddies, because you don't like to have your beliefs challenged (few people in this world do, only the strong can handle it).
The PUA community has a decaying, infected, rotten and reeking underbelly, born from macho male ego inflating ideas, and childish, self-centered, fantasy-driven beliefs.
'Get any girl, anywhere, anytime, any place'.
As far as I'm aware, from the things that I've read, this is essentially what the community was born from. Hypnotize the girl so you can have sex with her without her crying rape later.
Fortunately, since that time, the community has had a higher class of individual step forward. The boy who sees his life is unhealthy and unfulfilling, and so he decides to step up to the challenge and become a man. He seeks to make a change within; to become the kind of man we all desire to be, one who has strong character and presence. One who leads a life of integrity, sincerity, and morality.
This small article is about recognizing the difference between the men and the children. I won't include links in this article, but I am going to be using examples.
Yad's daytime kiss close
Self-proclaimed to be the "World’s Best Ever Live Pick Up Video". It went something like this:
*Cold approach
*Build repport and attraction for about 8 minutes
*Then spring an uncomfortable situation on the girl where she is forced to decide: kiss or run like hell.
This is like date-rape of a benign nature. Yad wants something from her; he wants a certain outcome which he hasn't set himself up for correctly, so he intentionally puts her in an uncomfortable position where it takes strength on her part to reject him. This is more like a scam than a useful means of attracting a woman. The only purpose of this is to try to look like big sh** in front of a bunch of looser keyboard jockeys.
Yes, it's possible to get girls who are down to make out with you after less than a minute of having met you, but this has more to do with finding the right girl, while she's in the right state, being the right guy, and not screwing things up for yourself.
And then come the throngs of pimple-faced followers (see the comments on his page) who will then think of this as being a new ability for them to acquire and become a level 9 dark mage elf, since they see life as an RPG game (again, this is from real people I've met).
Another example: kids in highschool
The highschool student who lacks the guidance and life experience to keep things in perspective. "Plowing" and "being alpha" are easily misconstrued by him to mean that you simply demand blow jobs from your sister's friends while they ride along in your car. And if they refuse? Don't take them to their destination. Drive in circles. And then once the poor impressionable girl gives in, what does that mean? OMG! It means that you're a big-shot PUA stud, who just plowed through that LMR and got the lay! What a big man you've become! (yes, this is a real example, sad to say).
My Final Thoughts
I think this community needs to draw a line in the sand, and change its image. I think the image of the pickup needs to be framed properly within the field of dating science. The PUA should be a man of integrity and leader of other men, who still respects women as individuals, while at the same time, understands the importance of male and female roles, dominance and submissiveness, and when those roles are right to act out.
This community should be a self-help community. This is about becoming the best man that you can be. Sadly, this industry is driven so heavily by ego. I guess it's an inevitable product of survival of the fittest, that the most childish of purported 'pickup skills' will be championed over real self-improvement. Perhaps these trends are just the product of the same old problem in society which brings about more "reality" TV shows, more sex and more violence on everyday TV, more soft-core porn in PG movies... Maybe it's the society of instant gratification which gives us these things. Like the rise of fast food.
Maybe if people can start to demand better for their children's education, we can see progress for society.
