Hey guys I been Gaming for a while (still pretty new to it) and I’ve hit a dilemma where girls I been gaming are posting teasing, suggestive comments on my Facebook and I’m not too sure whether this will work with me or against me? :? Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You don't know what to reply, or are you worried that other girls will see the messages and assume you're a player?

As long as it's not too suggestive (Hey you :) you left your shirt at my place last night, when are you gonna come over to get it ;) ) and not overly detailed then you have nothing to worry about. If anything, it will work in your favour in terms of social proof, preselection, and to show you have options.

Personally, I have my facebook wall deactivated. If someone has something to say to me they can contact me directly. Why make everything so public? Everyone is a little exhibitionistic and voyeuristic about their own/others' social lives, but facebook crosses the line. Don't get me wrong, it's a great social tool, but unfortunately it has a dark side.

I highly recommend watching this vid:

Facebook is too far removed for any "game" to happen there. You can put up a cool looking profile so that girls who check you out see that you are cool, but if they are posting stuff on there, that's probably a no-no.

As for that video, thanks for posting it. I've always been suspicious of online social networking sites. I only use facebook for casual banter. My "stsatus" never includes any personally identifiable info and I don't reveal any personal information about my background, age, universities attended, etc. I don't post anything sensitive on walls or in public display. I also don't use facebook's email feature unless there are people I need to reach who only communicate through that media.

Just delete any sexually explicit comments, but other than that go ahead and leave the rest, most of them are a good thing. If you get called out for being a player, use any player hater line

Girl:"So many girls post on your wall, you're such a player!"
You:"I noticed! they all just want a piece of me, and frankly, I'm sick of it! I'm tired of girls thinking I'm just some piece of meat for them to drool over, I've got feeling too you know! I changed my sexual orientation on my profile, but I don't think it worked....

On the topic of facebook:

A good friend of mine who winged me for day game during the summer would often close with facebook instead of numbers. It's more laid back then asking for a number straight up, since it can often trigger a shield from the girl. He would often 'escalate' it to getting a phone number anyway.

"It was nice talking to you but I've gotta run. You've got facebook? Here, write down your name [ pulls out phone and she types in her name], and then judging how down she is, he would also usually get her to type her phone number as well.

When getting the number, he'd have his phone out and say "you're a 613 area code right?" (or 514 or whatever, depending where she said she's from if a tourist). If a girl just said "uh, yeah" without giving the rest of her number, he would reply with "Alright cool, so if I just dial 613 I'll get to you?" to which she'd laugh and usually give him her number.

Like I said, it's less direct and she's less likely to put up a shield.

this movie is retarded, god damn you ppl, looking for conspiracy everywhere, "violating privacy"... bulshit, you want something private dont post it and you know ppl will see it so you willingly posted a whatever coz you wanted others to see it...

no one is looking for youre secrets through facebook, first and foremost because they are not secrets

and yeah off course that if the government or whatever body will use facebook to gather information if they need to, which is a good thing, it's easier to catch criminals... and it's a great way to advertise yourself if youre a beginning artist...

beside think about yourself... how many old friends have you found at facebook, it's an awesome thing, and being afraid of it "VIOLATING YOURE PRECIOUS PRIVACY" is.. as I said RETARDED

and on the subject of girls posting stuff on youre facebook
NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, it's only good that girls will think youre a player, it shows preselection...

you owe NO APOLOGY to no one, it's perfectly fine that other girls are interested in you

It’s just that I had a girl post something on my Facebook that made me out to be a player so I brushed it off with a joke and suddenly I get the cold shoulder from another girl (on Facebook chat) I’m gaming for no apparent reason….I’m thinking its maybe Anti-slut defense? Or I’m thinking nothing that goes on in Facebook matters?

come on man, you CAN'T take it seriously, there is a million and one reasons why she would not answer you on the chat

besides, even if it somehow relates to the comment, she might be a bit jealous which is m a good thing

as I said before you owe no apology for youer lifestyle, if youre a player so be it

Two years ago, I posted my whole portfolio as an album on facebook. That was before I found out that anything you post on facebook is OWNED by facebook.

Well isn't that awesome...

As I mentioned, it's a good social tool. But at what cost?

The video above presents nothing but facts, I would hardly call it paranoia.
Please educate yourself a little before calling something 'retarded'. Read George Orwell's '1984 (in your case watch the movie...) and compare it to what you've learned from the youtube video.

It's something you'd expect from an oppressive, socialist, totalitarian government, not with democracy. It completely goes against our rights to privacy, something I highly respect.

Pervasive government surveillance is far from being a good thing... you mentioned 'catching criminals'. Now that's just bullshit and sounds just like something straight out of fox news.

If you don't mind being the governments bitch, then by all means sell your soul. I for one, chose to oppose it. Democracy will inevitably become, if it hasn't already, just an illusion of freedom.

I'd like to hear you repeat that sentence after living in eastern europe half a century ago. You know nothing about fear. My parents and theirs' were oppressed by a communist regime for many years, the stories they told me shed some light on how a government can turn a beautiful thing like life into a miserable thing called fear.

You disgust me.

Privacy is a right, but above all, it's a privilege. Unfortunately, some take it for granted.

I didn't really have the time to read all the posts made

But make it so your wall cannot be posted on, and it looks as if you dont have one

They can still message you and stuff

DUDE I was born in eastern europe. And with all respect facebook and STALIN are two different things

...blaming facebook for violating privacy is just ridicules, no one comes to youre home and forces you to put anything there, YOU CHOOSE to use facebook, and you share what you want to share, blaming facebook for violating anything is like blaming everybody for laughing at you after you run naked around the neighborhood.. it's YOURE FREAKING CHOICE.

do you really think that if you post something on something as public as facebook no one will watch it?

and yeah, I advertise myself on facebook and it helps me a LOT, and yeah I found tons of old friends

OWNED by facebook.... WELL OFF COURSE, are you paying for youre domain on facebook.. NO, it's not youre property or youre domain, it belongs to facebook, it's not public property, you want to post something on the web, pay for a domain

"government bitch" aren't you dramatic

and one more thing

I've been trough a war, as a soldier, friends of mine died.
no my friend YOU HAVE NO RIGHT OF TALKING ABOUT FEAR
live one day with bombs flying around you and then come and make drama about the mean government watching pictures of youre dog, coz that's probably what they are buisy doing

99% of people using facebook have no idea about the driving forces behind it. They signed up and use it under false pretenses. They are completely unaware of how anything they do on the site is being documented.

Think of the private conversations people have on the instant messaging application, unbeknown that every word is quite possibly being stored in a database somewhere. These people don't realize they signed a consent form that allows facebook or whatever third party to use any and all submitted data in whatever way they please.

Knowing this information I still use facebook, but with some decency and reason, unlike the other millions of oblivious sheep.

there is this small box where you put a V, which say "I read and understand the privet policy something something"

the fact that most people don't read it is their problem, it's like signing a contract

don't blame facebook, as I said it's youre choice, no one forced you
