ok im not sure how to lead into it i was thinking something along these lines

*Let me tell you about this story that happened to me one time a few years back*

anyway please feel free to point out any flaws that's why I'm posting it

Me and my girlfriend at the time decided to ditch the bus and go back to her place and we are sitting on her couch watching T.V. and all of a sudden her little
brother comes busting through the door holding his shirt over his face and runs back to his room so i follow him to see whats up,and when
i get to his room hes standing there blood all over his shirt and face and im trying to talk to him im like "Woah calm down,tell me what happened man"
then after i got him to calm down a bit he told me that their neighbor was drunk and punched him in the face over some bullshit about him trying to
steal his sons girlfriend so then i get on the phone with my friends and had 3 guys there in like 5 minutes and we all put on ski mask and run over to his
house and im out standing like right beside the front door waiting for him to come out and i tell my friend stanley to got throw a brick through the window
i hear the dude comeing down the stairs and next thing i know he comes bursting out of his house waving a shotgun around and im scared shitless but
for some reason next thing i know ive got both hands on the gun trying to get it away from him and BOOM! the gun goes off my ears are ringing and so
the only thing i can think to do is kick him in the nuts so after i do he lets go of the gun and i just book it as far away from there as possible

This is waaaay to violent!

Child abuse and gunfights plus a lot of blood. No, that is not something you use to raise the spirits of the conversation.

Less is more!

You wanna stay off any topic that is sick, disgusting or scary. Those are negative feelings. Also it becomes too unbelievable if it is too much over the top. Plus, how are you gonna introduce it without them asking "why are you telling us this?".

Hey here's an idea - Why not use a *real* story from your actual life? If you have no interesting stories, get the hell out there and start living life!

Actually, that would be the optimal situation but believe it or not. Some people cannot identify their interesting stories. They need training in order to see that what they think is too boring is interesting to others and what they think is wuite interesting is over the top.

So yes, get a better life and some cool stories but you know you are allowed to fake it until you make it. As long as your goal is to actually make it!
