During the movie, I initiated putting my arm around her about 15 minutes in. A while after that we started touching hands, and then we made out 3 times. I was feeling up and down her thigh a bit as well.
I get a text from my friend this morning (his girlfriend is her friend) saying "I heard about last night. Sorry about how it went". I asked why and he said "She said you were a little too handsy for a first date and you might have been kind of rude."
Should I text her apologizing? Its come to my realization I probably did go too far with my hands. Should I just move on and forget?

Other more experienced guys might be able to offer advice, but I reckon move on, use it as a learning experience. Leave her wanting more.

It might not be as bad as you think even, things get blown out of proportion when people play telephone. This is what your date told her friend who told your friend.
That being said, I might reach out to her just to say what's up. Don't bring up the touching on the date or try and analyze it with her. Invite her out somewhere where that kind of touching won't happen. You need to build up some more comfort first.
Maybe dinner, maybe bowling. Something in a brightly lit place will probably make her feel less like you are going to grope her, haha.

just afterwards her logical side stepped in and was saying "you don't know him enough to do that".
Don't apologize. NEVER apologize. and NEVER bring it up. simply keep it in mind for next time. _________________ Every Saint has a Past, Every Sinner has a Future
