Hey, reading all the pua stuff, it seems like you have to come up to a girl and get her mind of thinking it's a pick-up. Girls out there are used to guys picking them up and are expecting that from you. My question is, could you come up to a girl and say "hey, what's up" or would you have to come up with a situational opener?

There are girls out there that expect a pick-up and some even look uninterested b4 you talk to them and starting off with a "hey, what's up" instead of "hey, you know where the bus stop is" seems like a bad idea, cuz they mighht sense a pick-up. If you go up to a girl with a cool, fun guy attitude, and just say "hey, what's up", will she be open to talking to you, or will she have a shield up thinking you're tryna pick her up?

or just know that chicks dont wanna talk to a guy who says the same thing that every other guy out there says. just come up with something interesting/unique/thought provoking so as to capture your audience.

You know what, i'm buggin. Of course you can say "hey" to a girl, and it'll all be good. I got another question.

From reading all this stuff, it seems like people have to have situational openers. Could you just say "hey, what's up. What's your name?" If you have a confident, cool guy personality, could you get blown off? Is it safer to do those situational openers that are used on this site?

sure you could use that, but you have to ooze confidence and have a very strong frame. strong frame overpowers any other aspect of game in my opinion. simple openers such as "what's up, Im JKill5" have worked for me loads of times.

typically tho, it is more interesting if you can say something unique. you will come off as a person she wants to know more about. Intrigue, is the word im looking for.

That's right, just be interesting. And one thing to remember is that if your conversation seems interesting and fun, it doesn't matter how irrelevant it is. Talk about anything at all; talk about your favorite TV shows or books, talk about bacon and beefsteak if that's what easily comes to mind and it's what you can talk about.

You might think that it's risky to be too irrelevant, that they would too easily think of you as crazy. I don't think it's that much of a problem for me. Basically, I think they ask themselves if I'm crazy for a few seconds, and after that they (often) come up with the answer that I'm not crazy, but rather someone fun. In other words, they are momentarily confused, but they come up with a positive assessment. And once this happens you're well on your way to being liked.
