| Hi,
Can anyone advise me please? I'm new here!
I have worked with this HB9 for the last couple of months.
She was flirting with me so I took her out for a drink after work (she readily agreed). She seemed really keen and mentioned at the end of the drink about a party she was gonna invite me to, but I sent her a text message afterwards and said I thought we should do it again, etc. and think I scared her off (twat), because she never replied.
Anyway I acted like was I wasn't bothered and remained confident in front of her for a while and then she seemed really interested again. Then I made a couple of mistakes which I NOW know where approval seeking which I think lowered my social value. I asked her out again a few weeks later (face to face) and she said "I've sort of met someone else now, but we can still go out as friends, when I come back off holiday, as friends". Well when she came back off holiday I text her on the Monday and asked her if she wanted to grab a drink after work on the Thursday ( I thought I would go for it). She didn't reply for 48 hours (and never mentioned it at work), then said she wasn't sure what she was doing yet and she would let me know. She never text me back.
So I decided she wasn't worth it, so for the last three days I've remained civil, but switched my energy off her and joked with other people while she was around, but ignored her. NOW she seems gagging to spend time with me at work, as I have been distancing myself from her.
My question is, how can I handle this? The last few days, she seems like she wants to be around me and she stopped by my desk this morning smiling and trying to initiate a conversation with me and I've seen her staring at me while I'm talking to other people (and making them laugh).
I know that distancing myself has highered my social value and lowered hers, but think that distancing myself will only work for so long. I cannot completely cut her off as I currently work directly with her. Should I neg, qualify, (I've literally just read about these, and have limited understanding)? I am reluctant to ask her out again as she blew me out the last time and never even replied to my text. I'm only working there for the next two weeks, so I need to pull something out of the bag!
Another option is I know the area she goes out in on a weekend, so I could potentially bump into her one night after I have finished working there ie. leave it for a two week break? Perhaps I should neg her in this two week period?
I know I've stuffed up, but I've learnt alot.
Can anyone give me a rough order of things I should be doing please?
Any help advice appreciated, thanks for reading.
Ricky
