I'm teasing a girl and jokingly pointing out her flaws. She's laughing, and then she says "That was mean." How should I interpret this, and how should I respond?

I'm far from an expert, but from my experience "That was mean" translates into "It matters to me what you think of me" which could be an IOI or it's just her insecurity coming through. Are your negs too harsh or are they playful? Think about it from the girl's perspective. Also, are you negging someone who has lower value already because she's a 6 or 7? Negging equalizes the playing field, but don't neg just to be playful/cocky. You can show her you're the LOTP without turning it into a insult comedy routine.
