Hey guys, firstly, I'm not new here. I posted a lot here a while back under the name SunOfNothing but lost the log in information.

Anyway, I'm back because I have a quick question that even I, semi-pro (jokes), needs help with. Here it is:

So, I'm talking to this girl I've been into for a few months--talked to her off and on since I've been legitimately busy, but I'm realizing I need to do something about this asap. I'm pulling all the right strings and pressing all the right buttons, then, I get really daring: I bring up the fact that I recently "semi-dated" a girl who called me boring and I made up a little bit how it kept me up most of the night pondering to which she laughed and assured me I'm not boring. Conversation continues for a little bit then I eject.

Did I stick my foot in my mouth by either removing myself from her radar or by sharing that did I "friend" myself?

Thanks guys.

I think you might not being seeing the situation clearly because of some history you have had with women. I want to break it down for you like I see it.

You said your ex broke up with you because you are boring.

She said your not boring.

I would suggest that he likes you. Why don't you take it a step further and ask her out on a date.

I think it might have been a mistake to bring up your ex and say that she called you boring, framed in such a way that it looks like you're seeking this new chick's approval. She is supposed to be seeking your approval, not the other way around.

It's not clear cut. We don't understand your relationship well enough. Gives us more information.
