best way to break up?

I understand there is no best way to break up but , anyone has any suggestions so it will easy the tension ? because we go to the same school and i cant say that i dislike the girl . But the fact is im joining the air force in the summer and i feel as if this relationship will be obsolete once i join , and i dont want her to be "waiting for me" , we're both very young and i would not expect her to stay at home and not do anything , and if she does obviously its gonna bother me.
